  • Re: Question about Plagiarism

[quote user="Rosie Perera"] Block is credited as one of the essay contributors in Holman's CSB Study Bible. The intros to each of the books of the Bible are not specifically credited to anyone, but it's quite likely that the people who wrote them are the authors of the Holman volumes on those books and are among the essay contributors who are credited

  • Re: Question about Plagiarism

Thanks for the reply. I understand the basic definition of plagiarism. The question arises because Holman owns both works and its unclear who is credited for the introduction for Judges in the study Bible. I can easily see a scenario where Holman reached out to Dr. Block and he gave permission for it to be used anonymously. I'm just unsure of how these

  • Question about Plagiarism

I've been preparing to start a sermon series on the book of Judges. I came across this gem when reading the introduction in Daniel Block's commentary (NAC) "rather than lifting up the kings as an ideal above the confusion of this period, the addition of “everyone did as he saw fit” in 17:6 and 21:25 reduces the population to the moral and

  • Look At the Book - Can We Expect an Update?

Has there been any word on an update to the Look at the Book labs in Logos? There are over 2 years worth of labs to add to this resource . I know I can just head over to the Desiring God website but it's so convenient to access within Logos. I can't imagine the Desiring God team would be the cause for the holdup.

  • Re: John Piper's Missing Sermons

Great! I can confirm this fixed this issue. I'm not sure what the Logos team changed that made this necessary but I'm glad it's working again. Thank you NM.MICK for applying the fix. Just a quick note, you may want to make sure that "show table of contents" is checked for this resource. You can sort the sermons by date, topic, and passage.

Thanks for suggesting a fix for this. Any chance you'd be willing to make the correction yourself and upload it here on this thread? I've attached the original file to this reply. 5265.John Piper's Missing Sermons.docx

  • Re: So Who Bought the NICOT/NICNT?

That's disappointing. It makes this year's March Madness available for those who have quite a bit of money, or a large collection already. But I guess it's good to change it up every now and then. I'm glad for those who had the funds to purchase entire sets at a discount.

Perhaps this has been answered elsewhere but is the sale price only for the entire set? When I go to an individual volume of the NICNT it's listed at full price.

To anyone who will listen: The Acts of the Risen Lord Jesus by Alan Thompson is a must-have resource for anyone studying or preparing to preach through the book of Acts. I can't overstate how beneficial this book was for me when I preached through Acts 2 years ago. GET IT.

Tomorrow is the last day of this sale. I finally made my decision on which commentaries to buy. These are the 10 that I chose after considering the recommendations I read online and got from people I know. Proverbs (2 Vol), Isaiah (2 Vol), Jeremiah, Ezekiel (2 Vol), Acts, Romans, Revelation

  • SUGGESTION: Warning in Shopping Cart for Resources Already in Logos Cloud

I suggest Logos give some kind of warning to the customer before they purchase a resource that it is already included as part of their Logos Cloud subscription. The customer could then choose to purchase it anyway or remove it from their cart. Logos does not provide a list of resources included in Logos Cloud. Even after subscribing the resources change

Maybe some of you can help me decide on which OT volumes to purchase. I have $40 to spend. Isaiah - Oswalt (both volumes) Proverbs - Waltke (both volumes) Joel/Obadiah/Jonah/Micah (Allen) & Nahum/Habakkuk/Zephaniah (Robertson)

  • John Piper's Missing Sermons

Below is a link to a personal book that includes every John Piper sermon available from Desiring God that is not included in the John Piper Sermon Archive. There are over 250 such sermons spanning from 1971 to 2016. The John Piper Sermon Archive available in Logos includes only the sermons he preached at Bethlehem Baptist Church. The sermons in the

[quote user="DAL"] Save your money, you will be better served by Faithlife Study Bible. The only thing the ZIBBC offers are average pictures. The comments are too basic and not helpful for someone who wants yo do serious exegesis. Your top Commentaries have more indepth information that is even more practical than what the Zondervan set offers. Anybody

[quote user="Friedrich"] DAL and a couple other have mentioned Dictionary of Biblical Imagery. I used it a lot. The Bible is full of images and each article gives you a big picture of a theme, which helps round out the Biblical worldview/theology. The articles/images gave me inspiration and creativeness for my sermons. ISBE is a standard, "evangelical
