On the advice of Morris Proctor at a recent Camp Logos I am now in the process of tagging all the books in my library. For the most part I have followed his suggestions regarding subject tags and author tags. I have also seen the wiki on collections that also helps with tagging. However, I am curious if there are any tags that other users have found

  • Re: Getting New iPad

I am not having any problems with wifi reception. However, I am not convinced that the battery life is as good as my ipad2, although I could just be spending more time on the new one.

For those of you considering how much storage space you will need for movies on the iPad I offer my solution. I use a program called Cucusoft to rip DVD's that I own to my computer in an iPad friendly (MP4) format. I just checked two of the movies in my itunes library for comparison. "The Blindside is 943mb while "Fireproof" is 682mb. If you go this

Dan, i wish i could be more convincing. Don't look at a retina display and you'll never miss it. :). Is it worth $100? I don't think so but combined with better graphics performance, faster processor, and voice recognition it is to me. Also, i would never, ever encourage someone to go with a 16gb model. The 32gb model actually has 28gb of available

  • Re: New Ipad

Had my new 64gb verizon enabled iPad in hand friday morning around 9. I actually called the fedex store and asked them to hold it rather than deliver so that i could get it sooner. Upgraded from (and gave to wife) a 32 gb wifi only ipad 2. I use a Yoobao executive leather case. I love it because it is very thin and looks much like a padfolio. It also

  • Add devotionals to Logos homescreen

I ran a quick search and didnt find anything related to this question. On the ios app homescreen is a list of devotionals. Is it possible to add to this list or is it automatically populated?

  • Re: Thinking about the new iPad--what's so great about tablets?
what makes the Logos app on the iPad so great when you already have a good notebook computer?
I lost all of my theological library in the flood from Hurricane Katrina. My decision over the past several years was to rebuild that library in Logos rather than in actual paper books. Logos 4 on a good laptop is wonderful

  • Re: Getting New iPad

Pre-ordered mine last night. Now only 8 more days to wait! I have had the iPad 2 for the past year and have found it to be a near perfect fit for my life. My wife has been asking for one since I got mine so she will be getting my iPad 2 to use for herself and homeschooling the kids. The biggest problem for us has been that I am a counselor and because

  • Re: Commentaries

The answer to this questions depends on a large number of factors such as your theological background and whether you are looking for devotional, pastoral, or critical commentaries. However, I suggest checking out www.bestcommentaries.com to begin your search.

  • Re: What is the best tablet for using Logos?

I'm not an apple fanboy but I have become an iPad fanboy. I use a windows laptop, and android phone, and I bought my wife a kindle fire for Christmas. However, I absolutely love my ipad. I used to enjoy tweaking computer systems and building custom pc's but the older and busier I get the more I just want things to work. For me, the iPad just works,

  • Re: Platinum Question

Hmmm. . . not sure about the LE to KF upgrade. According to my software I have 4.3 SR8. It seems like almost everyday there is a Logos update available. Also, I already have the NIV2011 in my library. Any reason why I would still need to download KF (assuming I don't already have it)?

  • Platinum Question

I have the platinum base package but when I click on the "upgrades" tab on Logos' homepage it offers Platinum as a free upgrade. Why?
Don't hold your breath
I'm not. I know these issues are usually not Logos' fault. They would love to sell me even more resources. I just wish there was some way of knowing if things are in progress on certain materials before purchasing them in other formats. Though that's probably about as likely as seeing highlighting

Hmm. . .I don't know how I missed that there was already a thread about this. Glad to see others have been lobbying for the same thing. However, since it has been over a year I suppose the chances of seeing these resources soon are slim.

  • Celebration of Discipline?

Is there any chance that Richard Foster's book Celebration of Discipline will be available in Logos format anytime soon? I would prefer to have this resource in my Logos library. The publisher is Harper Colins. I don't know if that makes a difference.

  • Re: suggested iPhone App

I also use the Vyrso app as a second Logos App. Because it lacks much of the functionality for research that the main app has I keep the ESV text and the ESV study Bible notes open in Vyrso and I use the Logos App for other commentaries, dictionaries, or systematic theologies that I might be using at the time. One note however: if you use books offline
