• Re: 463.5 MB Update...Any ideas what it is?

Another tip (and what I've just done in Windows 7) is added that folder to the My Documents Library.
You can also add that folder to your Logos4 shortcut bar: With Windows Explorer open over the top of L4, just drag and drop the folder icon from Explorer onto the short-cut

  • Re: Can anyone recommend a good laptop?

I've been very happy with my 4 month old Asus UL80VT. The ULV processor handles Logos 4 quite well. The real trick is having dedicated graphics. This particular laptop has switchable graphics which gives the best of battery life and performance. For $750 it was a sweet deal for me.

Not available in Logos to my knowledge but a resource that I use in my Christian Counseling practice is "Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage in the Bible" by Jay Adams.

  • Re: Serial Number for Essential IVP not being accepted.

I had the same problem last week with a copy from CBD. I called Logos tech support and they said I had to call IVP. I called IVP and they promptly e-mailed me a new serial number. Unfortunately, then I had to call Logos tech support again for them to enter the new serial number. So long story short--2 30 minute calls to logos and 1 5 minute call to

  • Re: best laptop/specs to run logos 4

I purchased a new laptop last week for the same reasons. Upgrading your RAM will help. I was skeptical about the graphics card making a difference. However, my new laptop has switchable graphics which means that I can run integrated graphics to save power or switch on nvidea geforce with 512 mb of memory. Runnning a basic LOGOS search from the homepage

  • Re: Selling Books

Thanks for the input everyone. Looks like donating or Amazon is the general consensus. I was hoping someone knew of an online reseller who would purchase in bulk.

  • Selling Books

I've seen several people mention selling off paper books that they also own in Logos format. For those of you who do this how, where, to whom do you sell? I would like to sell some books but none of my local used bookstores will buy them.

  • Sale Prices

Is there a way to see a listing of all of the resources that Logos currently has on sale or is it necessary to search for resources you are interested in to see if they are on sale? For example, I wanted to order Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology and found out it was on sale. I would like to have an easy way to see if other resources I am interested

If I can continue the selfishness I would like to ask people to vote for Old Testament Survey by Lasor, Hubbard, and Bush in Division 4. Right now it looks good but that could change at any moment.

  • Re: Shopping for a new laptop--Logos performance questions

Well, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new laptop. I decided to go with an Asus UL80VT-A2. I chose this machine over the UL30 because it has a 14" screen rather than a 13.3 and also includes a built in optical drive. I am excited to see how the combo of ULV Core 2 Duo and switchable graphics does with Logos. Will post an update when it comes in

  • Re: Shopping for a new laptop--Logos performance questions

That's what I thought. A backlit keyboard means that light shines through the keys as well as around the keys which makes using the laptop in low light conditions much easier. It was one of the features I really wanted in a new laptop but I'm finding that I may have to sacrifice it to find a better deal. Thanks for showing me this laptop. It is definitely

It doesn't look like that laptop has a backlit keyboard or a dvd drive. Is this the case?

Man, I've been hoping Word would go on sale. Is there any way to get on that e-mail list? I thought I was already signed up for special offers.

  • Re: Shopping for a new laptop--Logos performance questions

Jim, that's a nice looking machine. I'm curious about the performance of these ULV processors. Seems like going back to a 1.3 ghz would be a step in the wrong direction. Are you finding comparable performance to say an i3 or i5?

  • Make the Logos "Bible" page mobile friendly

Currently I use a Palm Treo and I am fairly certain that my Logos Library will never be available on the Palm platform. However, last night I was at church and the pastor read out of a translation that I don't use often but that I knew was available on the Logos "Bible" page. So, I opened a web browser and clicked over to the Logos Bible. The only page

  • Adding Libronix packages to L4

I was in my local Christian bookstore yesterday and noticed that they had several Libronix packages on sale. I never used L3 so I am wondering how difficult it would be to add those types of packages to my L4 library.

  • Re: Shopping for a new laptop--Logos performance questions

Thanks for the input everyone. I should have mentioned that one of the reasons this decision has been so difficult is because of the specs I'm looking for. I want a 13.3 or 14 inch screen so that I can comfortable use my laptop on a plane and I am also hung up on having a backlit keyboard for the same reasons. My primary ministry is counseling and I
