What method, if any, would be best to determine how many times a preposition occurs with an adjective as it's object in the GNT? One possible example is 2Timothy 2:16- EPI PLEION. Terry Cook sDg

[quote user="Milford Charles Murray"] Peace and Great Joy in the Lord, Terry! *smile* I remain very thankful to you, Terry, for all of the insights I've gained over the years while pondering Holy Scripture using the sentence diagrams you have shared with your brothers and sisters both on the Old Logos Newsgroups and also the L4 Forums. You have served

Happy to see them in the hands of God's people I noticed on Wiki the 6 Galatians diagrams are not there nor are 1&2 Thess, Jude, the rest of James etc. I don't know how to add them but maybe they'd be of some value on that site? Terry sDg

  • Greek Sentence diagram of 2Tim ch 1

3566.2Timothy 1.zip Greetings in the matchless name of Christ, I have attached chapter 1 of Paul's 2nd letter to Timothy. The diagram is built using L3 but is easily converted to L4. The theory behind the diagrams is a modified version of the Reed/Kellog "stick" diagramming method used to teach English grammar when I was young. Terry Cook sDg

  • Re: Another search question

You got me, it wasn't my original question I thought I was asking about words occuring only in 3John but I worded it poorly. The same basic question in both was how do I do a search to determine words that occur only in 2Tim or 3John or Galatians or....? How did you determine there are 12 words unique to 2Tim? Terry sDg

OK, so, my original question remains: how do I determine those words in 2Timothy that are unique to 2Tim? Terry sDg

Hi Steve, I easily got that part but I'm looking to determine how many times a word occurs only in 2Tim from the entire NT. Terry sDg

Hi Dave, There are about 326 words found only once in 2Tim and probably not more than 25 used exclusively here. I followed your instructions (I think) and got 12,506 returns! So, where'd I go wrong? Terry sDg

  • Philemon Sentence Diagram

Bart Ehrmann recently commented that onl 7 of 13 letters of the NT attributed to Paul were actually written by him. Ehrman bases this on the idea that Paul "wrote in short pointed sentences." Philemon is the fourth letter attributed to Paul that I've diagrammed and through my personal study I say Ehrmann is full of it ! This little book is NOT in any

  • INDEXING

I primarily use L3 but nearly every time I open L4 it goes through a lengthy process of indexing. It slows the computer down to the point its almost unusable. Then, each time I "defrag & optimize" I notice the defragger app spends most of its time moving L4 stuff. I'm not a big fan of L4 anyway and this is certainly unwanted behavior. Any ideas? Terry

  • 3John Greek diagram

Attached you will find a zip file of 3John. The diagram was built using L3 but easily converts to L4. It will NOT work on Mac. 2 and 3John were surprisingly difficult little books to diagram. The grammatical and syntactic relations were not as evident as one might think given the size and limited vocabulary of these two treasures. The method used for

I don't think the other brothers addressed part of your question which I understand to be: "Why the price difference ($300 Logos prepub vs. $130 Wordsearch prepub)?" I have asked similar questions myself over the years. In my opnion Logos is the most expensive of all the Bible programs. Additionally, they offer far fewer "free" resources than many if

Kevin and Robert- thanks for trying. I did get most of the search I was looking for using Robert's idea of morph search. I'm guessing there's an extra step or two and I could get the exact search I am looking for? Hmm. Also, I noticed Robert's view was from L4 and I'm using L3 for this search. I CAN use L4 if needed but I'm so used to L3 I use it nearly

  • Another search question

I did finally figure out the answer to the previous question: It was a very easy graphical query. I'm almost embarrassed it was so easy. I would like to generate a report of all the Greek words in 3John and the frequency with which they occur within 3John. I would then like to compare those occurring only once with their usage elsewhere in the NT. How

  • Geek search help

Greetings, I have yet to master the advanced searches Logos software has despite being a user for nearly 12 years! I'm sure I'd be an expert if I practiced but I only use the more unique search features about twice a year. I'd like to find how often a pronoun occurs with an article preceding it, at the most, two words between. I'm not sure whether a

Dr Boice read this passage outloud at a Bible conference in Cincinnati about 10 or 12 years ago. I didn't have the book at that time but quickly did. The 3-vol dead tree version was first printed in '86 by the Banner of Truth. The modern language version is superior....... IMHO. Terry sDg

I havethe three volume print version of Gurnall's Christian in Complete Armoour. Here is a quote: " Prideful by nature, man would like nothing better than to be his own god (though for clamoring so high he got his fall). Find a doctrine that nourishes a good opinion of man in his own eyes, and he will show himself a glutton at its table." Here is a
