  • Re: Need to re-download resources?

All of my resources finally downloaded (except for The Bible Knowledge Commentary). It took a while and several times the app seemed to get "stuck" at a certain number. Sometimes the activity icon would be circling and other times not. When it wasn't, I would kill and restart the app and it would start downloading again. I downloaded over 900 resources

  • Resource crashing app

"Kingdom of Priests" by Eugene Merrill causes the Logos app to crash. I've tried deleting and downloading again, but with the same results. Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Re: iPad 1.5.0

I have had some issues with the downloading as well. When I started, I had over 900 to update. It now shows that there are 272 more to update. The app seems to download for a while and then it stops. Sometimes it gets stuck on a number of resources (it says downloading 625 resources) then jumps to 550 resources. It is slowly but surely getting there

This has been the case for me since I first installed the app when it first came out. (Only Revelation being available.) I have been meaning to post about this for some time now.

  • Re: Logos startup sound -- keep it, change it, kill it?

Startup sound is nice, but the one complaint I have about the current one is that it is too long! Make it a bit shorter, keep the option to turn it off and include the option to add your own sound would be great.

Forgive me for asking a stupid question, but I thought I would ask the obvious. ("Obvious" is relative.) Did you restore your licenses from a backup? Have you synced your licenses with the Libronix server?

  • Re: File Location

So, is it possible to copy a "resource" folder (or something similar) to a flash drive, so that I can transfer all the resources to my laptop, or do I need to download 5.6gb again? "No user serviceable parts" leads me to believe that this is not an option... I was also wondering if it is possible to install Logos 4 on a computer that does not have an

  • Re: Library Management options in L4?

I did as you suggested and, yes, it did update the account summary in L3. This doesn't help the fact that this doesn't seem to be a feature in L4, but at least it will work until they (maybe) add this ability. The only problem I found is, there are numerous (150+) resources that show up as: LLS:29.1.10 LLS:40.40.29 LLS:40.40.44 LLS:40.70.1 LLS:40.90

  • Library Management options in L4?

Is there a way to view your account summary in L4? Also, I see that backing up your licences like in L3 is not a possibility anymore. I would like to install L4 on a PC without internet access and was wondering if there is a way of restoring my licenses on this machine. I believe copying the resources would not work for this, or would it? - does anyone

  • Re: Installing new resources in L4

I don't remember exactly, but I believe the download was around 230Mb. The download took about 30 minutes - that, of course, could vary depending on your ISP. It also re-indexed my library, but it only took about 10 minutes - I have 1100 resources (with WBC). If I understand the process correctly, it only indexes new resources and makes a separate index

  • Re: Where does L4 save its resources?

More specifically, it is in: Logos4\Data\xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx\ResourceManager\Resources. When downloading, it temporarily stores them in Logos4\Data\xxxxxxxxx.xxx\ResourceManager\Downloaded, but them moves them to the Resources folder when done downloading.

  • Re: Logos 4 Upgrade

Logos 4 is a stand-alone product and does not require an installation of Logos 3, although having L3 installed could help when installing new resources from a CD. Yesterday I installed Word Biblical Commentary and had to run the installer through Logos 3, then I synced my licenses, and then Logos 4 saw my licenses on the Logos server and downloaded

  • Wishlist - L4

Here's just a few things that I would like to see addressed. I thought others might add some things as well. Most issues are very minor, just little peaves of mine. Don't get the idea that I am complaining - I love L4! 1. Locally controlled background color. (Already addressed in another post.) 2. Selected window in L4 should be more noticeable. The

  • Text comparison missing feature/problem

I was reading through the help file about the text comparison feature. It states that you can click on A next to the passage box to show differences in the bible passages, but I don't see the A there anywhere. Am I missing something or is this a bug?

A simple solution for where windows open - have an option for selecting manually instead of (or in addition to) learning (as Bob P mentioned earlier in the thread). Simply click on the pane where you want the next resource to open, hold down a key and click on the link to force it open there. Sounds simple enough... As for the X to close a single resource

  • Opinions/questions about notes

I have been using Logos for about four years now and I have never used the notes capabilities beyond dabbling. A bible teacher that I listen to recommends not taking notes in your bible program, just in case the company goes belly-up or (gasp) another better bible program becomes available. The little that I have played with the notes features, I like

  • Re: ctrl F window can obscure findings

While this doesn't correct the problem, it is a work-around: If you have the locator bar bar displayed (Ctrl+Shift+L or select if from the arrow menu by the book cover in your picture above), it adds a bar that moves the text down, so it won't be covered up by the Find bar... I keep the locator bar on for all my resources - just a personal preference
