Yeh, it's not essential. Many work arounds. The point, was that something like reading plans would seem logically to be a quick way to read through book with logical reading sequences. Someone not expecting a micro/technical approach would seem to think a reading plan for books other than the Bible would be based on chapters or headings or some logical

  • Re: Logos 9 Wishlist

I was reminded again recently --- make things simple. Apple created a dynasty by making it all about the user interface rather than having to have 'expert knowledge. After 30 years of using Logos, it seems to be getting more and more complex with less and less added value. I personally have stopped trying to keep up. Use Logos 9 as an opportunity to

Thanks. I had discovered that the 'more functional' resource was Vyrso, so the explanations makes sense. The page number approach is pretty worthless in my opinion, at least for a quick read of a general book. Way more difficult than it needs to be. Another example of complexity defeating the purpose - and even more so some average user who just wants

  • Reading plan for books by chapter

Did I miss something, or is this a bug. I created a reading plan for: Jeff Myers, The Secret Battle of Ideas about God: Overcoming the Outbreak of Five Fatal Worldviews (Colorado Springs, CO: David C Cook, 2017). The reading plan had the option to generate the plan by chapter. Just what I want. However, when I created a reading plan for: Edward T. Welch

A problem for me too. A few books worked, but not all of them.

  • Re: Need Help With Transferring Paper Notes to Logos

You could scan (or photograph) them and (nonhandwritten) notes could be converted to WORD format. That would make it pretty straight forward to make PBBs from them. And that way you have a copy that is a format outside LOGOS as well - not a bad backup plan. Meanwhile, you have a searchable copy and as such the rigor of organizing them would not be so

Fanning was my prof for Greek at Dallas Theological Seminary. So that should answer your question.

I would guess that they posted week one a few days early. There are 4 deals and 4 weeks in November. But it is a bit unclear with the reference to Monday.

  • Re: Looking for Group Bible Study Resources

How about just a Bible study booklet that focuses on the Bible itself without much commentary. Question driven. I have used the Navigators' Lifechange Bible Studies New Testament and found the questions good for sparking study and discussion. Unfortunately, the series is not yet live in LOGOS - still in prepub. Also they are a bit pricey in LOGOS. I

  • Re: Books Coming Off Pre-pub

Yes, once upon a time, Faithlife provided guess-ta-ments for prepubs - often out 6 months. But whenever a schedule shifted the criticisms were as JT said, 'broken promises'. The result is that now a hard schedule of only those almost certain dates of 1 month out are all that we see. We have created our own problem because of our tendency to complain

Outstanding. I guess I missed this somewhere and I find searching in the forum a bit difficult to get good results. But your suggestion works. At least on the 3,500 entry file. Pretty quick to select. Takes a while to move the entries - not surprising since even 200 entries could take several minutes to transfer (small batches at a time). But easy.

  • Mass move of old highlight files to 'no notebook'

I love highlighting while reading. I was one of the guys that had a problem with extremely large note files in Logos 7 (I think that was when it was a problem) and had to break them into the resource specific files. With the changes in notes, that is no longer necessary (and in fact too many files may now be a problem I think). So I am finally getting
