  • Re: Questions from a non-KJVO

Do you have LOGOS software? If so we can recommend a number of books that discuss various issues pro/con with KJV. This forum is restricted from discussing theological issues themselves. It is intended for the use of LOGOS and its resources.

  • Re: Please pre-order The Kingdom of the Cults

Never mind. It is on the Ebooks website and the order link only connects to the Faithlife website. It would be nice if the two websites were integrated. I sometimes forget.

Has this book been withdrawn from Prepub? While I still have it as an order, it no longer shows on the website.

  • Re: Logos MM: too large chunks to swallow

For years, my largest expenditure in Logos for the year was during MM, but this year I have already lost interest. Even with the winner, whatever that might be, I will not be interested. Too much money for resources I am not interested in. The approach might have seemed like a good idea from a seller standpoint, but not so much for a buyer - at least

  • Re: UBS Handbooks

I am a pastor (and am have a pretty good working knowledge of Greek). I almost always use the Handbooks as part of my exegetical examination of the text. Very helpful in providing practical analysis of the text (think understanding that one would use in translation, i.e. understanding how to communicate the meaning of the text).

  • Re: Is Logos expensive?

A car mechanic buys quality tools - they are essential to his job. Shouldn't a Christian professional (and others who are serious at the task) do the same? And yes they can be more expensive than really cheap ones (however learning to get the deals / manage the Logos sales make them less so). But they also stand the test of time. They are the right

  • Re: highlighting

Another option (if you are only using a few highlighters) is to purchase a programmable multi button mouse (pretty cheap). Assign one or more of the extra buttons to a hotkey. Thus, select and push the button. I use this all the time.

  • Re: Emerging Church

Part of the problem is that the label 'Emergent Church' can be applied to a large range of churches / people / movements. Like most labels, they don't define a precise group of people, but more of a movement of a range of people. Some are very 'loose' with their theology and some would be conservative in theology but 'radical' in their ministry approaches

Let's see. What to pick? What to pick? I can get journals without extensive tags. Or .... I don't get journals at all. I know! Let's get journals without extensive tags. No brainer.

  • Re: Isaiah 9:6, NET Bible note

I was not supporting the NET claim, just looking for where the reference came from. I had never heard that comment before and was curious and surprised at the NET comments. Most every good commentary handles the passage well (although few include the Rashi viewpoint). The excerpt Robert gave provides a succinct overview of the popular meanings. The

  • Re: Isaiah 9:6, NET Bible note

Not sure about Christian debate, but there appears to be Jewish debate about the passage. If you look around at Google you will see references to such. I did not pursue the topic to find the sources though. Don't know if a Jewish commentary or traditional Jewish resources would shed any light as I have none. I am assuming the Net is referring to traditional
