• Re: Disappointed in Tech Support
I called support today about a technical issue. After trying one extremely minor thing, I was told to post in the forums. I've done so, but that was extremely disappointing.
If are running the beta, then that makes sense, if you are not running the beta, then they should do better than that.

  • ESV interlinear display shows up incorrectly - Bug

I have 2 ESV's open in my layout. I want one to open with no interlinear display, one with all. No matter how I save and close them, they both open up showing all of the interlinear information. I can go the display settings and uncheck everything but surface, and then save the layout, and still it opens up with all of them checked. Edit - the other

  • Re: How to revert to 4.0c beta 3?

I don't think you can revert to an earlier version of the beta, but you can move to the non-beta version.

  • Re: wondering if the crashes will be fixed this week?

If download amounts are of no issue, I would just have a 2nd computer user account with L4 (not beta) loaded. Then if you run into this problem, you change to your other user account, everything is good. Just make sure your 2 accounts share your docs folder, most other programs transfer automatically.

I don't think it would be a huge cost of tech support to list what was being downloaded (even the "evil" MS W7 does that), and give the option to throttle to a certain amout of MB / day. (Of course - I am not a computer programmer, so I reserve the right to be totally wrong.)
Well, you
While I agree with this..it sounds reasonable...the issue is the huge cost of tech support. As one poster alluded to...having multiple systems in different stages and configurations of resource downloads causes an extra layer of tech issues...and one of the main design requirements of L4 is that they try and minimize that
My suggestion is Automatically Download Updates = NO and I'm still waiting to do the download! Another strategy is to start downloading and kill the download when your limit is reached. L4 will then index what you have downloaded (according to those that have tried it!). You can do this in conjunction with turning off Automatic

  • There NEEDS to be a way to see and select what is downloading

I understand that Logos wants the L4 engine to be always updated, and the books to be always up to date, but ..... a 636 MB download now - and I have a 250 MB limit per day on the satellite connection. I need to be able to select what is downloaded at the moment. I should be able to select the engine downloads and not the new books (that is my guess

  • Re: Hardware Speed Comparison

Steve, Thanks for the comparison. In my experience, as long as your hardware can handle it, L4 is amazing, and leaves L3 in the dust - I hope you have the same experience. I know keeping up on the hardware is expensive too, I'm not saying how much I spent on hardware in 2009-10, it makes me cringe. I almost never look at the homepage, I've turned it

  • List of features to be added

I know for L4 there is a list and timetable of features, I don't see one for the ipad yet, but maybe I'm missing it. I was wondering if such a list existed yet for the ipad. Specifically I was wondering about notes.

Sorry, should of explained - the last one was from opening my visual filter called Mike1. This on is from creating a new visual filter, naming it, then it crashed. 0250.Logos4Crash.txt

  • Opening Visual Filter crashes L4 Beta 3

Highlighting works, and the visual filters are working, but if I try and open any of my visual filters, the program crashes. When I try and create a visual filter it crashes.

  • Re: IPAD

My only frustration with my Ipad and L4, is that I like to take notes when I read, and I can't do that. Since indexing would need to be done on the ipad to institute searching, I can see that it would cause some problems.

  • Re: This is a little embarassing but....does anyone like the "Interlinear at the bottom" more than the old style for ESV?

I was never the fan of L3 the way I am a fan of L4. When it updated lately, I opened the interlinear the new way (which I guess is really the old way) but do not like it nearly as well. So all of my layouts stayed the same.

It's funny, since I started this thread, a long long time ago, I have changed my position. I'd like to see basically no moderator, with logos dealing with the real big offenders themselves, and relaxing the no theological talk rule. In general, I am trying to learn to ignore the bad stuff, and not sticking my .02 in when someone says stuff I don't agree

Every time I start to write a critique of his blog, I sound like him, and I don't want to sound like him. That said, his books in my library go mostly unread for the very reasons mentioned above.
