I am glad I displayed my ignorance, so you could enlighten us.
Resource updates downloaded into Logos can be copied to "offline" Verbum installation using scan command
Thanks for that info. A very innovative work around.
-
Another "Reason for the season" day .... It ain't about hiding eggs, Folks.
-
Only way to stop that syncing, is to uncheck "use internet" in the Verbum installation. The problem is ....Now you get no resource or software updates.. Worse yet: If we inadvertently recheck that box....even for a few minutes. Verbum will communicate with the mother ship and attempt to make the 2 installations twins.
-
I have now installed Verbum- quick question are they going to sync with each other?
Yes. I tried to make that point above. Changes to the Verbum Library will be mirrored in Logos. The Guru's can tell us if there is a case where that is not true. I can't think of one.
-
If your goal is to have one installation with less resources, I'm not sure you'll be able to make it work. I installed Verbum on my tablet and started hiding resources...only to find they were hidden on the big machines running Logos as well. Logos and Verbum cross talk.
Since I don't know the validity of the premiss, I will give Bob the benefit of the doubt on this.
The jury is still out for some . It would seem that all this deliberation has failed to convince some to subscribe.
-
I suspect this is maybe the 6th time this has happened here, that I've observed.. Bob tends to put his (or staff's) ideas out there, and test the waters. Typically he watches the conflagration for maybe 3 days or so, presumably to see where the heartburn might be. And then the lengthy explanation plus mea culpa. And both parties
I remain concerned about Faithlife diversification to a point it may become burdened financially.
He who has an ear, Let him hear.
Not counting my Now subscription I only spent a little over $500 last year. This year i'll strategically add books and maybe L8 when it becomes available. I'm not much of a revenue stream at the moment.
ONLY $500? To some of us $500 is not an only. i know that for whatever reason, FL has fallen on hard times. But

The cool thing about avitars is: We can post how we would like to look. as opposed to how we actually look. I learned this from a cherished MVP. But I shan't mention her name.

just type the phrase in the search box exactly as you did in your post. .... including the quotes. Lots of old testament instances.
So, happy future 30th!
Yes, I know but I must make one last point. 3 score and 10 is 70 , not 30.

Speaking of 3 score and 10, I reach the magic number in a few days. Feel free to wish me an early happy b-day, just in case we are out of touch on the big day.

Now what made you think I was speaking of you?
I agree with you too Paul, but am pragmatic enough to say paying is better than FL going under and having no support. -dan
I can't even spell pregmituk. Seriously, I read somewhere that pragmatism begins at home. Seems to me that if FL had been more pragmatic about their "business ventures" they wouldn't have to be
I agree with Paul C. Software updates for compatibility have been promised, and that promise should be kept.
Thanks. It means a lot that you would agree with my point of view. .... in public

I know this started as a tad of humor, But if one were seriously studying the issue, they would have to consider Mark 12:25. "For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven." One gets a belly button at birth. Were the angels born outside of marriage?

You are far more understanding than I. Your peacekeeping efforts will be rewarded.
