• Warning: Download of Data on Fresh Install Takes Awhile to Start

I am guessing this is a problem related to everyone updating today. But I saw one report of 30 minutes. Mine took a total of about 45 over two sessions (laptop and had to shut down and then restarted later). But finally after that length of time the blue icon did show up and is now very slowly downloading. This is not the best way, but I wanted to test

Wow, that took a long time. Finally downloading 7.2 GB of data.

  • Re: Reverse Interlinears - Hiding?

What happens when you click on a work in the ESV - I mean an english word up top? If it doesn't move then, you have a problem. If it doesn't move until you click it, I think that is normal, at least that is the way it works on my system and has since early in beta.

  • Problems

I keep getting an error saying that I do not have permission to read one of the books that have set up in a reading plan. It is MacArthur's The Glory of Heaven. Also the list of daily readings does not work. The first one is checked off, but when I tap them nothing happens. When I went in to load the book manually under the read tab, it said it could

And before you freak out and go "Ahhhhh" and run back to 3, just realize that you were likely using 3 for years. It will take a little to get used to the new look and interface, but it grows on you. I was a hater at first and still would like to see some things but we have been assured most of them if not all of them will be there. My pet peave has

  • Re: iPhone Logos

Bob, Despite my criticism in another thread about this, I am very impressed and have even posted on my blog about the iPhone app already. Looking forward to offline sync at some point though. BTW don't get too excited about my blog. My mom doesn't have an iPhone. I think she's the only reader.
Kevin, you've been added as well. Enjoy!
Sweetness. What do I owe you? I have a 15 year old and 11 year old and a dog.

  • Re: iPhone Logos is online!

You will have to forgive me, but sorry. Can't give it 5 stars. And no I am not holding anyone but AT&T and Apple accountable for the lack of 3G in my area. But I am holding Logos accountable for not allowing offline sync. It should not be a huge challenge to allow me to have a small selection of my books available even if my 3g or Edge for that matter

  • Re: iPhone Logos is online!

Sadly, Bob, offline access is the one thing that will get this to a 5 star. Until then it is not going to be. For those of us with either a touch or an iPhone in an AT&T handicapped area (Edge only for me) make this nearly useless away from home or my church's building or wifi hot spots.

  • Re: Glo - Interactive Digital Bible Study Software from Zondervan

This is certainly no competitor to Logos. It is truly a non scholarly approach and would be a companion to those of us who use logos for study. I like how easy it was to export the images for showing in my church. If you have used iLumina, then you have a good idea of the look/feel of this thing. I will be doing a review for Christian Computing Mag
Good news
Could we see something in about two weeks? Apple claims most get through in that time. Another bible beta I tested was approved about that quickly after resubmission. So lets hope it gets approved first time around.

I signed that site when it first was reported long ago and still no invite. If you are waiting till there are enough people to have a decent sized community you may be waiting a long time. I just set up a forum that I am going to be using for a group of local ministers. But you are welcome to join us. http://biblestudy.kevinpurcell.org/index.php I have

  • Re: Discounts on Zondervan's Logos editions for Pradis users
I think the issue is Zondervan losing money not Logos. As I stated earlier, Bob P has said most of their customers don't buy extra books beyond their initial purchase. So, not much of a win for Logos on that front.
But this has more to do with them buying Pradis in order to get access to Zondervan titles. When I

You have missed my point. Once you do the work, which you are going to do anyway, it does not cost you anymore to give it away to one who will unlikely ever pay for it. But it does gain you a happy, paying customer who might not otherwise become one. My point is that once the work is done, the only cost to Logos to give it away is ... 1. Administrative

  • Re: Discounts on Zondervan's Logos editions for Pradis users

As an owner of Z's Expositors Bible Commentary I will be happy if it is a free trade. Here is why I think this should happen this way. 1. I've already paid Zondervan once for this book and should not have to pay them again for the same books. 2. Logos is not losing money by giving one more away. The only thing I could see is a fee for either the disks
I have a fairly sizable investment in Z/Pradis. Since the cost and availability of converting my current titles over to Logos is up in the air, I am going to download and hang on to the latest Pradis engine update ... before it disappears... just in case I need it later on. http://www.zondervan.com/Cultures/en-US/Product/Software
