Bob, Have you tried using the Logos Log Scribe to create logs? It can be found here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/25043/185736.aspx#185736 . It makes putting together a log file much easier. BTW: what crashed when you tried sending the logs? Grace be to you. Levi

  • BUG in Text Comparison Window in 4.2a Beta 1

First, l really like the new beta. My favorite new feature is the Expand Bible Verse service. This is the one missing feature that I missed from my Accordance Bible Software days. Thank you. There is a visual and functional bug in the Text Comparison tool. It works fine if you allow it to open in it's default location on the right, but if you move it

  • Re: updating a saved layout is so painful

I don't have a trackpad, but it seems that you are missing something. It is really easy to update a layout. When you right-click (or control-click) you should get this menu: Are you getting this menu? If the two-finger click is too hard, try the control-click instead. Grace be to you.

SR-5 is not a beta version. It's the stable version. More info on differences between the versions is here: http://wiki.logos.com/The_Logos_4_Beta_Program Grace be to you

Yes! I agree also. Sande's work in the Peacemaker is clear and biblical throughout. It is one of my most marked up and post-noted books.

  • Re: Taking Notes Outside of Logos 4 Mac

Rick, Evernote was something I considered, but I wanted a low screen footprint so that it would fit alongside Logos 4 and be visible all the time. By using Dropbox, I can have access to my notes on any platform as well — and any text editor can edit them easily. Plain Text formatting is almost impossible to mess up — because there isn’t any! Why not

  • Re: Copy clipping to document, no footnote

It's true, copying from clippings doesn't include the bibliographic info. Count me among the ones who wish it did. But you can get the info without hunting the quote down again. Just click on the "i" icon, and copy and paste from there. Grace be to you.

  • Taking Notes Outside of Logos 4 Mac

I prefer to take my study notes outside of Logos 4. I have been looking for a system that allows me to: 1. Keep the notes and Logos 4 on the screen at the same time without having to switch via Command-Tab. 2. Sync the notes to my home computer. 3. Have some sort of linking from Logos 4 (So that I know that I have written a note on a particular verse

  • Re: GM: Window size

It did this for me also. But I found a solution that worked for me: 1. Load a layout (the window is squished). 2. Resize window (Green button) 3. Update layout in the layouts menu. 4. Repeat for each layout. After you update the layouts, they should open normally.

  • Re: Recommendations

The 15 inch with the i5 core would be better for you in the long run because it's a newer and better processor. RAM Memory can be easily added later when you can afford it. I run Logos on a 4 GB iMac and an 8 GB iMac (same CPU), and I see no difference in speed. Plus--the extra monitor real estate would be worth it! Grace be to you.
The Logos version I downloaded reports itself as "Logos Bible Software 4" not as a Beta.
That's because after Beta 11, Logos moved to the "Release Candidate" stage, which is very close to what a final release will look like. To find out what you are running now, check the "About Logos" item in the menu bar and compare

  • BUG: RC 2 -- Trouble with Greek Pronunciation icon in Info Panel

I have found that if the info window isn't long enough to show the entire BDAG entry, it won't say the Greek word when I click on the Pronunciation icon. Instead, it scrolls to the bottom of the entry. From there, two possibilities arise: 1) If the Pronunciation icon is still visible at the top, I can click on it again and hear the Greek word. 2) If

  • Re: Inductive bible study

Print isn't available in Logos 4 Mac yet. If you want to print a Bible passage, you need to copy it to a word processing document and print from there. The Copy Bible Verses tool (found under the Tools menu) has a variety of pasting formats, or you can create your own, so you can paste the passage into your document just the way you want to. There is an entry on uservoice for this very issue...it doesn't have very many votes yet, however: http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4/suggestions/692078-enhance-user-file-management-so-they-are-truly-bac?ref=title I, for one, am very nervous about using notes without some way of restoring accidentally deleted notes.
Adding shortcuts to the taskbar is very nice. What would make it better is if a person could 'double-click' them to get them to open. At the moment, I am not able to do this on the shortcuts here. So I have to use command+click. Also, I haven't found an easy way to rearrange them. I just started using Aland's Synopsis

  • Re: A new type of pre-pub - it isn't in print yet!

Initially, I was skeptical about this pre-pub deal, but after reading this thread over the past few days, I grew warmer to the idea. I talked to my wife, and to my surprise, she had little resistance to the idea -- in fact, she was kind of excited that this would be the first major commentary series to be digital before it goes into print. So this morning
