Most important features of SL will be its speed and compactness compared to Leopard. No more PPC code or bulk. How about its price: $19.95 upgrade. In His service, Charles

[While a case could not be built on the examples of Logos and Ilumsoft alone, the parallel of the two stories as I have followed them have been strangely close, except that version one of Ilumsoft's software has still not seen the light of day. It appears to me on the surface that a windows company gearing up to produce Mac applications from the ground

Thanks for the update. I especially like the new Print feature and the ability to choose a different font. Cutting and pasting with a larger and darker font really helps the folks who we minister to at several nursing homes. Keep up the great work! Regards and God bless you. Charles

  • Re: Bug - Paragraphs are not defined with bold verse numbers in the NASB 1995 Update Version

I'm currently reading from the NASB95 in my Mac version, and the paragraphs show up in bold by verse number. For example: Matthew 1:1 is in bold, Matthew 1:2 likewise is in bold, and again for Matthew 1:12. If you look at the way paragraphs are noted in the NIV, you'll see that they are shown several spaces to the left of the verses belonging to the

  • Re: Copy and Paste functions of Windows

Thanks for that Jack. It definitely saves time rather than going through a long passage and manually deleting footnotes and references. I for one will be happy when MS updates Mac Office and brings back macros. I really miss using the copy and paste macros that are available to Windows users of Office 2007. Regards, Charles

  • Re: Snow Leopard And Logos Bible Software Beware

Snow Leopard not only broke my Canon PIXMA MP 620 wireless driver, it also has caused some of my programs to actually run slower and\or load slowly. Logos 1.2.1 is starting slower and running slower, likewise for MS Office 2008. Since these are my two mainstay programs for our ministry, I had no other choice but to revert back to Leopard 10.5.8. Your

I may try a clean install of Snow Leopard instead of the upgrade path I took previously. I do have a Time Machine backup and a complete clone of the hard drive made with Carbon Copy Cloner. Since today - Monday, is our off day I have some time to spare. I know MS Office 2008 is fairly easy to reinstall, but am a bit worried about Logos. Would I have

OK, I see that now. It appears to me that Bible Text mode is designed for cut and paste - notice there are no cross references or footnotes. I probably should use it instead of cut and paste from normal mode. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Regards. Charles

Hi Jason: We also have the Windows Nelson Library Deluxe which we purchased on sale here in Dallas many years ago. Very nice resource. Thanks for posting your work around - to be honest, I would not have thought about loading a copy of Windows using Fusion to install the older resources. Since we already had several machines running XP Home it wasn

Kernal panics are usually the result of a hardware problem but can also be caused by software. I generally keep Logos 1.2.2 open in the background while doing sermon or Bible study preparations. I run MS Word 2008, Safari, and other programs at the same time and have never had Logos crash. BTW, I'm running 10.6.1 on a 18 month old MacBook. It's possible

  • Should I install now or wait?

I purchased the upgrade to Logos 4 and received my DVD today. The DVD has Logos Windows 4 SR-5 and Mac 4.0 Pre-Release Alpha 4 on it. I'm currently using Logos 1.2.2 on my MacBook with Snow Leopard. I have Windows 7 installed on a Boot Camp partition but have not installed the Windows version of Logos yet. I'd like to wait until Logos 4.0 for Mac and

I'm currently running Logos 5 on a 2011 iMac with 8 GB of memory, a 500 GB hard drive with plenty of room, and have not encountered any slowdowns. As a matter of fact, I find Logos 5 to be faster than Logos 4 when searching or doing just about anything that I previously did with version 4. I can't compare to running it on a PC because we no longer use

  • How to set the default Bible translation in Logos 5?

Sometime ago, perhaps using Logos 3 or 4, we set our default Bible translation to the NASB 95. We would now like to use the NIV 84, however, we can't seem to find a way to change it. Also, since we use the services feature provided by Logos 5 and Mac Word 2011 to "replace with verse" and "copy Bible verses", that too is set as the NASB 95. Can someone

Hi Sylvio: I just recently upgraded from Logos 4 to 5 and all of my Map sets including the Logos Deluxe, Nelson, and so forth were carried over to version 5 as were all the items in my Library. Are you sure you're missing the map sets you had in your Logos 4 Library? You should have lost nothing in the upgrade process. Charles

Sanil: The Logos 5 Engine is free if you wish to go that way rather than pay for an upgrade. The download and installation can be found here: http://www.logos.com/installation However, I would make a backup using Time Machine before doing the installation just to be sure you can fall back to Logos 4 if something should go wrong. Thanks for the information. Do you know if it will automatically transfer my notes and the books from the LE version of Logos 4 to Logos 5 for free (cloud syncing?). Yes, it should. I have the exact same version as you (Logos 4 LE) and when I upgraded it transferred everything over - notes, books, complete Library, etc. Regards, Charles

The MacBook Air hard drive is upgradeable, however, it's a rather expensive upgrade. If you're interested in upgrading, go to http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/SSDAPE6G240/ . External storage would certainly be more economical.
