• Strack & Billerbeck please....

Ok, here's a series I'd like to see offered via Logos -- Kommentar Zum Neuen Testament Aus Talmud Und Midrasch by Hermann Strack and Paul Billerbeck -- translated into English of course.
Thank you for reporting. After initial investigation, this appears to be an isolated data entry (human) error between and the back end accounting system. We're working to verify the root cause and build procedures to avoid a repeat occurrence.
James, thanks for the response. I really do believe it was

  • Account Security Discrepancy

I was checking my account information and noticed an alternative name and shipping address for me. I immediately deleted it as I have never used such an address nor did I know the individual referenced in the address. It occurred to me that this was a mistake but it's a pretty serious breach of security. I certainly didn't place the individual's name

  • Re: compare different texts (same translation)
I'd like to see the 4 versions side by side and then use Logos 4 to automatically analyse the passages and point out the differences. In some ways this is similar to the Text Comparison Tool, except that uses 1 passage and multiple translations - what I want is 1 translation and multiple passages! Is there a way to do this

  • Re: SESB for Logos discontinued?
Hi James. I also noticed that the SESB for Logos users (i.e. the cut-down SESB for those who already own a Logos base package) is no longer offered. That's the one I bought recently (August), but even in my order history, that item no longer is link. The previous product number (3005) no longer works.
That's the

  • SESB for Logos discontinued?

I've noticed that Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible (SESB) Edition for Logos Bible Software Users is no longer offered. Is the SBLGNT and its apparatus the replacement or is there another product offering we can anticipate? Is purchasing the full SESB the only way to get the NA27's apparatus now?

  • Re: What is the value of SBLGNT
I'm guessing that if you polled 100 random users of the print NA27, you'd find that a large percentage of them (likely well over 50%) pay little to no attention to the apparatus because it is intimidating. It is a metalanguage, and it takes time and effort to master. Then it takes time to understand exactly what it is telling
I wonder (and maybe this would make a good WIKI or video too) if someone could offer a brief example of using SBLGNT to research something simple, showing usage of the apparatus, and maybe tying it into NA27 or UBS4?
This might give you an impression of what I meant when I said the SBLGNT's apparatus is not as detailed

  • Re: What is the value of SBLGNT
In brief: it is valuable inasmuch that it contains a critically edited text with an apparatus that pinpoints areas of divergence. Having an additional text to compare to NA27/UBS4, WH, BYZ, et al is a valuable tool for seeing variant readings.
The problem with this translation is its apparatus. It is not as detailed

I used to be a regular beta tester on L3 but with the newnes of L4 I opted to just get the updates after they became "Gold". I'm tempted to become a beta tester on L4 but for now I'll patiently

  • I Like It!!!

I know we can't always have what we exactly want in software but the current release (4.1 SR-3) has provided so many of the improvements/enhancements that I've been waiting on. So, thanks Logos team! It's much appreciated! Now, get back to work....
I have two friends, one is a Jehovah's Witness (JW from now, no slight intened) and the other a Christadelphian. All three of us (they don't know eachother) seem to hit on the topic of the 'immortality of the soul.' I'm not quite sure how to broach a study with them. Is it better to begin by studying/researching prior to talking

I was on hold for over 30 minutes with customer service trying to get an answer to a simple question... put the phone on speaker and continued my working, later looked up and realized that I'd been holding for over 30 minutes. When I realized that I was on hold, waiting to ask them about the status of the Hebrew pronouncation module (which I've been

Why is it that the Alexandrinus manuscript is considered Byzantine within the Gospels and Alexandrian in the rest of the NT?
When I was learning Greek, I found it indispensable. But, it is essential to know that it is keyed to Zerwick's Grammar (a real Gem) which is unfortunately only available together with Swetnam's introduction to New Testament Greek (the volumes I had to use when learning Greek)...
I wonder why Logos doesn't sell

  • Re: Active Index Issue
You have to delete the existing files or overwrite them to succeed. The "older" files have a Date Modified from 2006 and 2007 and should be available from a Logos3 Installation DVD (v 3.0f or earlier).
I finally got it to work. I had originally renamed the newer file to LOGOSNA27_old and copied in an older LOGOSNA27
