• Re: Knowing God by Packer

It is ironic that the most recent issue of Bible Study Magazine has a really great interview with J.I. Packer that talks about Knowing God and Faithlife doesn't even offer it for sale.

  • What Resources Will You Read in 2019?

There's a thread in the forum already on the version of the Bible you plan to read in 2019 . I thought I'd work off of that and ask if you have a plan to read certain Logos resources/eBooks in 2019. I'll play first. I plan to read Max Lucado's new book, Unshakable Hope and volumes sparking my interest in the Zondervan Counterpoints series. What do you

  • 95-Year Copyright Law Extension

Here's a New York Time's article that discusses that beginning yesterday and every January 1 going forward, we'll see books that were previously copyright protected for 95 years enter the public domain. Books published in 1923 have run their course. For Bible aficionados like us, this means that, for example, J. Gresham Machen's New Testament Greek

  • Re: Unseen Realm by Michael Heiser: Logos versus Kindle
I'm really just trying to dispel the notion that Faithlife has some sweatshop of workers combing through each resource word-by-word looking for words or phrases to tag. That's clearly not how it works for Bible references and there is no reason it can't be done with non-Bible references and they are likely already

  • Re: Problems with the Logos app for Android

Faithlife has said that they are looking into offering us the ability to change the font in the mobile app in a future release. No timetable has been given.

What is the verdict and what would be suggested after time has now passed? Thanks Brody T
Brody, welcome to the forums. For the latest discussion on e-ink devices, read this thread
Bill, I have used Logos in my SB2 in tablet mode and it is useless. I can't even highlight text using the pen.
Interestingly, on the Go highlighting with the current generation of Surface pen or the Wacom Bamboo Ink stylus works well.

Chris, You didn't say whether you'd be using the Surface Go as a tablet mainly or as a mini laptop. If the latter, I found the Go to work well. It's more responsive with the type cover, scrolling through windows, selecting controls, etc. I'm assuming you've used your Surface Book 2 as a tablet in Logos to get a feel for how it works using the pen as

Chris, I had the Surface Go and recently sold it to buy the iPad Pro 11 fully understanding the limitations of the mobile app. Let me tell you why the SG didn't work out for me. (1) Random sluggishness, typically when Logos was indexing. (2) Battery life wasn't acceptable to me. (3) Weakness as a tablet. This is largely because Windows is really not

Here's a screenshot of the mobile app running in Android on my Pixelbook. I'm in favor of allowing us to choose our font, but I may be in the minority in saying that I find this font to be readable on my device. Perhaps condensed a little too much, but I am not seeing the other anomalies others are reporting.
Right. If you aren't familiar with the software industry that is always true. Development always look at their priority lists for fixes and enhancements. Faithlife, from an outsiders view that understands the industry of software development, does a good job. It is hard as you want to continue moving the product forward, but
Bill, I do understand my equipment isn’t newest, neither is it the oldest, however out of all the apps I routinely use there is absolutely NO problem with sluggishness. Additionally, while L7 was no speed demon it did run much quicker. I am not doing elaborate things just simple selecting and mainly highlighting. There
The web app uses cutting-edge techniques to render resource content very accurately (virtually identically to the desktop app). It may not work with all devices, though (perhaps older browsers, some mobile devices, etc.). Compatibility Mode increases compatibility at the expense of some fidelity with the desktop rendering
