  • Re: Recommendations/suggestions for Android Tablet?

I might have to look at nexus 7 - I see that there is a 3G version - - because buying a Nexus 10 is not that easy in the UK due to shortage of stock.

I was not intending the use phone capabilities normally but it would be nice to have the option of putting a sim card in it on occasion so trying to get my head around it not having 3G capability ...

  • Recommendations/suggestions for Android Tablet?

I am in the market for an Android tablet - reading logos books on my 4" diagonal screen Nexus S phone is not helping my eyes! Can anyone suggest tablets (NOT amazon - please) that they are happy with for running LOGOS in its present form. I want it mainly for reading Logos books and looking up scripture and accessing downloaded commentaries applicable

Well I am in the market for a tablet and Amazon playing games like this has just lost them a sale - not that they are bothered!!

  • Re: LOGOS PLATFORM is being sold as Catholic

You have one here that is just not bothered at all. It is my interest that Logos better expands it's market into the Catholic market to help ensure its survival. As Protestant it is my interest that Catholics are encouraged to use Logos and be exposed to a wide range of Protestant material which they will do even tho they are encouraged to look to a

  • BDAG - now you see in Logos 5 now you don't.

There seem to be discrepancies between the Package lists and the product pages in Logos 5. I may have over looked it but BDAG does not appear in any of the Packages BUT on the BDAG product page it is shown as being in Platinum or above. Any ideas?? Any other discrepancies noted (assuming I have not just overlooked BDAG)?

  • Re: L5 Upgrade: Resource Calculator Bug?

What would be interesting is a "Lost To You" button to list those resources that would be lost by upgrading! 8-) For example, Pillar commentary is not in any of the packages in Logos 5.

  • Re: Recommendations on Wesleyan Commentaries?

Thanks for the info. I could do with a very big Christmas present this year - or rather several smaller ones!

[quote user="Michael Childs"] John, I use the Erdmans set, and I like it very much. It is older, but good. It has the best Wesleyan Scholarship of the 1960's and 1970's, and they were very good. I expecially appreciate commentaries by the legendary Dennis Kenlaw, former President of Asbury College and a brilliant OT scholar. I think you would like it

Thanks very much for your comments. It is a pity that no-one has experience of the Erdmans but I am tending towards the WBSCS. I value the names of suggested commentators to watch out for and will do a bit of checking here. I also like the writing of Ben Witherington – at least that which I have read.

  • Re: Personal Books - Is one large book or several small best?

Armin I downloaded the zip file, extracted them and put them all into one PB before creating the book as a commentary. I am not sure that Logos was too impressed with the size but it never complained and after sitting around for a while out popped the commentary. You will note that Acts is not present as Logos already has issued that separately.

  • Recommendations on Wesleyan Commentaries?

I am a Logos 'new boy' and am looking for a Wesleyan Commentary to provide a bit of balance. 8-) I have spotted three so far, not sure if there are others :- Wesleyan Bible Study Commentary Series Eerdmans Wesleyan Bible Commentary New Beacon Bible Commentary I am not looking for an in-depth technical commentary set but ideally a decent application

For the record, I have just complied Bibilical Illustrator as one file. I had been putting it off anticipating a complie for each file. It took nearly 25 mins to compile into one document and the resulting file is 276,228 KB in size. I thnk this answers my question as I do not anticipate anything like this size!!! Thanks again everyone.

Thanks for your comments. You have saved me some work. With images mine could be 30 to 50,000 KB based on a trial run. Based on your experiences I will give it a go for one volume. I do remember reading that the compiler is not over keen on compiling very big files so may need to ensure individual ones are not too big but that will be trial and error

  • Personal Books - Is one large book or several small best?

I have been playing with creating personal books only recently having moved to Logos. Logos seems to favour separate small commentaries volumes to one big one. Does this mean that when creating personal books with out of copyright material we are best to likewise avoid having one massive compendium and split into relatively small ones to create a series

I am so glad that others share my frustration at the Library controls. I have been a user for a month and have made a good start on most aspects but the Library ..... words really fail me.. >Dave Paul --- Of course, being digital, there can (and SHOULD) be greater flexibility in my folder/subfolder grouping ability--for instance, I should be able to
