  • Indexer crashes, need help installing...

I've been trying to install Logos 4 on a Netbook I use sometimes for travel and all goes well until the indexer hits 80% (which takes almost an entire day!) It then crashes. The netbook meets the published minimum system requirements, so it should work (even though slowly). Please help. 6204.Logos4.log 4666.Logos4Crash.txt 3157.Logos4Error.log 3073

  • indexer crashing 100% of the time

3007.Logos4IndexerCrash.txt I've been trying to get Logos installed on a netbook. All is well until the indexer crashes near the end of its work. I have tried everything - rebuilding the index, clean sweep re-install. Anyone out there know what I need to do to get this silly computer Logosized? 7217.Logos4Crash.txt

  • Re: Technical Bugs are A Huge Time Waster

Dave, Thanks for the tip. My issue was something caused by a non-US version of Windows (I use a Russian-language version) which does not work well with the updater script. Logos development said would be corrected with 4.0b SR1. Not sure what caused it, but it only hit with the last two updates. I dumped everything and reinstalled and it indexed and

I really, really like Logos 4, except when it does not work right (and that is the case today- it does not return search results after I allowed it to install an update and the indexer broke). As a last ditch effort, I deleted and uninstalled everything and am reinstalling Logos 4 from scratch. If I get it to work, I will never allow it to update again

  • Technical Bugs are A Huge Time Waster

As a very busy minister, I am getting more and more put out with Logos 4. I love the software, when it works. A few weeks ago, the indexer started to crash after and update, so I had to figure out how to fix that - wasted time. Yesterday, a new update caused my indexer to crash again - and now I cannot fix it, just have to wait for a new service pack

  • Re: Index Crashing

Melissa, Thank you for looking at this. I wish I had not accepted the update (Logos worked fine before that). Now I am stuck with a lot of preaching, teaching and research work to do - and no Logos to use (I can see the resources, but searching does not come up with hits now). I love Logos Bible Software (many years and a lot of bucks to prove it),

  • Index Crashing

My index is now crashing. It was doing so before and I did a rebuild. Now the "Rebuild Index" does not work either. I am running Windows XP. Any idea how to get this to work? Thanks, Gordon

  • Re: Blog Alert: Incorrect Information!

According to the updater, I will get approximately 380 new volumes if I upgrade to the Portfolio collection, which will cost me $2Gs and some change. That works out to about $5.26 a volume. Not a bad price. The updater estimates the value of those same books at $12,250 which would work out to $32.24 a volume - although I bet the average cost of those

  • Re: Logos 4 frustration

I'm surprised. I find it difficult to even compare WORDsearch with Logos 4. They're in different categories, in my opinion. At any rate, every frustration you mentioned is easily remedied. For example, you can set Logos 4 to open to where you left it, and not use the home page. I'm not sure why your having so many performance problems. Do you have a

  • Re: How do you use Logos 4?

I use Logos for two things. First, I use it to prepare for sermons and Bible studies. As an assistant pastor, I have preaching responsibilities several times a month, and I teach a Sunday School class and I lead a weekly Bible study for a men's group. That amounts to about 25-35 hours (at least) of prep a week. I do all my exegesis with Logos 4, and

Oh, cool. I did not realize that v.4 DOES have highlighting (and I was a beta tester too - shame).

  • The Upgrade is Totally Worth It - Brilliant Software

I have been working on my sermon all morning, and using Logos 4 to do. Admittedly, not thee first time, I used the beta versions to prepare too. But this software does the trick. Here are the 5 things that really do it for me: 1. Lightning fast searching. 2. More intuitive - I type whatever I want on the "go" line (what is it called anyway) and it reads
