• Re: A new type of pre-pub - it isn't in print yet!

Thanks Rosie for the information about the blog: Don't Eat the Fruit . "about the the role of technology in the redemptive movement from the Garden to the City." I hadn't known about that one. Sounds good. JJ

  • Re: I have questions: Evangelical Exegetical Commentary (44 vols) Pre-pub

Wilson, Congratulations on choosing a fine Seminary. Of course, I attended DTS, so I can say that with complete impartiality. :) And the fact that my eldest daughter is attending there now, this doesn't cause me to lose objectivity. To your questions: Faith. Yes, of course you are right; you would be buying this EEC commentary set upfront for pre-published

  • Re: New Mobile Survey -- BlackBerry and Android users, speak out!

Just got my HTC EVO which now ships with Froyo (Android 2.2). The larger screen and sharp resolution makes it ideal for using Logos. Not to take a thing away from iPhone or Blackberry (or WinMo, for that matter), but Android 2.2 is really a wonderful phone OS. I am reading books from Kindle on my EVO and I look forward to a solid app for Logos. It really
Yes, it really is a bold plan. It is so bold, that no one in the traditional print publishing industry thought it could be done. I know what some of you are thinking... "The people reading this thread right now think it can't be done too!" For all intents and purposes, a project of this scope was thought to be a thing of
Is there a way to copy the videos made by Logos users and save them to a portable drive that I can play on another computer?
Yes, I believe there are several programs that will do exactly that. Real Player (free download) will grab most any videos that are on youtube and other places. If you go to CNET's Download
Any chance of creating video of the class as you teach?
Good videos? No, I don't think there is a chance. Bad video from a camera stuck in a corner? Sure, I can do that. However, this isn't going to be anything that anyone will want to see on video. Most of the participants are average mom's and Dads who have little

Videos? Manuals? and Camp Logos trainings? I haven't considered trying to replicate any of these. Thanks for the responses. To clarify, I am looking to teach Logos 4 to absolute beginners in the local church. This will be NOT LIKELY be anything that someone would want on video or in a manual. I have been a teacher for 25 years in Higher Ed (started

Hmm, you think there is a need for a class on using Logos 4... a beginners guide? I am offering a non-credit 7 week course on using Bible software this Fall, specifically targeting Logos use. It will be interesting to find out how much we can actually accomplish in those 7 weeks. JJ

  • Re: Create an Android Mobile version

I can't imagine that Android OS wouldn't be a primary target in the sights of anyone at Logos Development. Android OS continues to rise in popularity. Besides, when is the last time that Apple iPhone released their newest product and immediately the reviewers were saying that an Android phone (Evo or Incredible) is better than that phone. Whether or

  • Re: Android, Please!?!?!?!?

I am ready to buy a cell phone now. Would love for Logos to simply say, "Yes, we are working on Android app." Or "No, you better look at the iPhone if you want Logos on your phone." The HTC EVO looks awesome and I would love to get that now, with the assurance that come summer or fall we would see an android App for Logos. :) Thanks!

  • Curstius OR Curtius?

I noticed that the title of the the new PREPUB has "Georg Curstius." That looks like a spelling mistake, as later in the same announcement it is shown as "Georg Curtius."

  • Re: Word Biblical Commentary came on CD-ROM for Libronix

There is another possibility of a solution that I don't see mentioned. Dale says that he doesn't want to install Logos 3 on his new computer. I suspect that his old computer is still around. When a person has two computers, you don't need to install Logos 3 to upgrade, simply go to the old PC (or 2nd PC) which may or may not currently have Logos 3 on

I think that Logos needs to be careful about how many platforms they are going to support. It makes sense that they chose iPhone first (even though it wasn't my smartphone!). I want Logos to be around 10 years from now. That being said, I think it is time for them to pick their next mobile platform... (since an iPad is just an enlarge iPhone (er, Touch

  • Bible Reading Plans

Bible Reading Plans can be very creative. Plans vary. Grant H's 10 Chapters in 10 different areas of the Bible, Read thru the Bible in 90 Days. Reading a "per chapter" approach. OT matching NT approach, etc, etc, etc. Our current Bible Reading program is completely unable to work with these plans. All that is needed is some more control. The first thing

  • Re: how fast does your Windows laptop load Logos 4? can you time it and post?

System speed is affected by much more than processor and RAM. Motherboard design, bus speed, how well memory control is integrated, and how well the operating system uses the resources... they all play a role. Notice that most of the Dell's running lesser "equipment" usually out-perform HP or Compaq. That may not always be, but I have seen that in other

A wonderful thing. Can't imagine why that wouldn't be important, as the mobile aspect is lessened if I can't pick up where I left off with my reading plan. JJ

  • Re: Prof. Horner's Bible reading plan

This seems like it should be a simple matter of adding a few AND functions. Set up one Reading Plan for, say, Matthew through John. Choose one chapter per day/session. Or, 2 chapters per day some plans Then ADD another line that does the same thing, +ADD button could add a second line. Genesis - Deut, 2 chapters a day, then repeat the reading from the

  • Re: POLL: Would you buy the Zondervan Bible Reference Collection for $.....

Zondervan already announced they were going to do an upgrade path to the new Logos version. I am hoping FREE. I, like many others, have the entire Pradis Library. As much as I would love them in Logos, I wouldn't pay more than $150 to transfer them from Pradis version to Logos version.
