Leaving the computer on overnight is not an option for me.
Hi Richard, On principle, I don't leave my laptop running over night, either. And as a beta tester who went thru many multi-gig downloads, I was faced with that prospect repeatedly. What I've discovered is that the indexer tolerates well being put to sleep

Hi John, Gotcha... and right you are. In my interactions with L4 so far, I'm finding LOTS of places where I have to learn how to work differently... ergo I've decided to leave L3 in place for awhile yet (& posted as a beta tester that the biggest competitor to L4 was going to be getting me to shut L3 off). But there's still enough there that I'm interested

So I miss CBV in the system tray. I miss Smart Tags, too. And (like many of the beta testers), I was put off by the radical change in L4's UI. But I'm finding that I CAN copy / paste

Hi Keith & Larson, I hope by now your experience has improved. I was a beta tester, & for a week or 2 early in the process we were overwhelmed with downloads... I had two that were over 10Gb in size. (I'm so thankful I don't have to deal with download caps from my ISP!) The indexing for hours & hours & hours after each download (there were many more
Is there a way to install most of the resources from my older logos dvd, instead of downloading everything over the internet?
Hi Rick, If anyone can help you make the older stuff work, it's Dave. However, my understanding is that L4 needs its own NEW file format, to take advantage of all its new features. In other words
Does anyone know of a free toolbar customiser for Office\Word 2007? There are quite a few paid ones, but there might be a good free solution out there.
1. When I am in one forum, there is no quick way to navigate to another forum unless I go back to the home page first. It would be nice if there was a way to switch from forum to forum in each page. 2. It would be nice if I could mark "All threads Read" from the page that lists the "Posts You Have Not Read Yet". Agreed with all the comments on textual issues with the passage. For me, these illustrate the issue with trying to argue for "inerrancy." Before I could have a meaningful discussion, we'd have to agree on which Greek text we wanted to consider--never mind which English translation... all of which brings me to the real point I wanted to make: what makes

Hi Dave, Yes we need a login to get in, but storing account info, & other personal info to enable a profile, also makes the forum a much more attractive target. I've been curious about your avatar... it almost looks like you've captured the reflection on a dark flat panel TV screen while you were taking a picture of yourself. What is it really? Bill

Hi Joe, After 25 years as a manager of various Info Systems functions in a large corporation--including stints responsible for computing security, I find myself paranoid about putting enough info on-line to have much of a profile on any system. To me, forums & social networks seem much higher risk than our NGs did. Obviously, our mileage differs. Blessings

Hi Terry, For me, too, the conversational aspect of the NGs is still missing. I've been browsing the forums since they were created, but this is the 1st time I've ventured to post. I have seen many new folks posting that haven't before (I've been a "member" of Logos NGs since some time in '94 or '95). Maybe it'll feel more like a community again after
