So how do I set the default Bible translation?
If you're signed in to the same account you use with Logos 4 then it will try to use Bibles in the order you have ranked them until it finds one that's licensed for online use.
I guess that makes sense as the TNIV is my preferred Bible

So how do I set the default Bible translation? It differs from my L4 selection and is coming up with a foreign language which is interesting but not quite what I want. BTW Firefox 3.6 has been released.

You might also be interested in the companion volume, Joseph Jacobs, The Jewish Encyclopedia: A Guide to Its Contents, An Aid to Its Use . New York: Funk and Wagnalls, 1906. Perhaps Logos can throw it in as an added bonus ;-). Here's their statistics of interest section: In the production of The Jewish Encyclopedia, no less than 16,606 general articles

Your pbb version seems to have the same problem at Isaiah 6:13 as Logos' IBS versions. The font for the character for "tree stump" is not working. I submitted a typo report a few weeks ago but no update yet. This is the character which should be showing up: 𣎴 . It looks like bu "not" but has no gap. Here is a link if it doesn't come through correctly

I have Windows Defender set to manual but it still pops up with that request every couple of weeks. Others have mentioned that they did send it in for analysis so I suppose we just have to wait until MS has done that so it will stop.

Other than buying kraft dinner I would suggest that... In terms of reaping big immediate rewards from your current market area I would suggest producing 300 public domain resources and then selling those resources to existing users for say $200. You’re going to sell say 4000 copies at that price = $800,000. Your cost so far is $200,000 plus operating

Maybe I'll try again in 6 months. I suppose it doesn't hurt but it isn't neccesary either. Tom
Is there a public domain chinese bible in Logos 4? I know there is a paid one . There used to be a public domain one in logos 3 manson
The one you are referring to is a pbb file and Logos 4 does not yet have the capability to read pbb files. It should be available for the second quarter of the year. In the meantime
The entries can't be removed unless you have a licence backup that precedes the beta. Then wait until 1 Jan 2010, restore the backup and Sync it! The beta resources would not have been copied to L3 by the L3 download script and ditto for the replacements as these are L4-only!
I just did this today but when I synced

It should take another 4 months and 22 days until it is released. [<:o)]

When the LXX translators did their work they similarly had to make those choices. When Paul chose to state in Galatians 3:16 "The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say 'and to seeds,' meaning many people, but 'and to your seed,' meaning one person, who is Christ" he chose to understand the OT in a particular way
-
Don't forget to compare the LXX when looking at OT texts. It is often helpful in informing us how those around the time of the NT understood the text, besides being the OT of the early Church. Not saying that it is definitive in this case but it always needs to be checked (and it is singular). καὶ ἔχθραν θήσω ἀνὰ μέσον σου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς γυναικὸς

It sounds like your $799 job is more than enough to handle Logos for any normal usage. You don't mention which processor that is. There are a lot of dual core ones and some are better than others. The top Core 2 Duo's are just as good as an i7 because of the memory controller. 7200rpm HD is as good as you'll get. Even if you don't have a dedicated video
It is not a question of whether or not L4 runs on a system with intergrated graphics, but when you see it run on a system with a good video card, suddenly your definition of "runs well" changes.
I'll have to take your word for it as I can't test out a graphics card in my laptop. Unless it improves the speed of

I am running L4 on a laptop with Intel X4500 integrated graphics and it works just fine. In fact I have never had a problem running any program. I currently have Wordx2, Excel, Powerpointx2, Firefox and Paint.Net running. I can at the same time run any of the new graphics intensive Logos resources with no trouble. I have to wonder how many programs

I ran an Update Resources and it downloaded 1.26GB including the DBs of people/places/things but they are still in my Downloaded folder. Seemingly L4 will not transfer them over to the resources folder. Obviously SR-3 is required and soon. Tom

When I went to open Lexham English Bible I discovered that it appears twice in my Library. One opens properly (but doesn't seem to have interlinear) and the other gives me a missing resource notice like you received (except for LEB of course).
I am running 4.0a on Windows 7 Home Premium, 4 GB Ram and have had no problems until today.
Are you running 4.0a SR-2? There was an issue with the Home Page crashing on start-up on Dec 31 prior to SR-2. You might try holding down CTRL when you open L4 and chose run with a blank screen.
-
SR-2 does fix the problem.
Lucky you. I have tried Update Now and closing and reopening L4, all to no avail. It says that there are no updates available but I am still on SR-1 according to the About box. Tom UPDATE - Apparently third time's the charm.

Logos has never given a date for them to end. Marketing has been throwing around phrases like "extended" and "ending soon" but given that there has never been a date set before us it is impossible to know. Perhaps only the father knows...Dan? If they are ending the introductory promotion soon soon I would expect to hear more from the marketing department
