I have purchased about $2000.00 worth of Logos products over the last 10 1/2 years yet I still own no base package. Now I am in a bad situation as far as a discount for an upgrade. Anyone like me?
Even as one who has steadily upgraded the base packages, I would have saved a whole lot

  • Re: How do you use Logos 4?

I use the Bible reading plan to read through the Bible (usually in a different version every year). Mostly I rely on Logos for sermon preparation which for me means working with the original languages. I prefer the NIC, BECNT, WBC, NIGT, and some on the ICC commentaries. Some of the NAC commentaries are quite good as well. When my sermons are technically

Oops. I didn't answer your question. There is a larger variety of songs in Green's Hymnal, at least there was in L3.

  • Re: How does Steve Green's Midi Hymnal compare to the Logos hymnal?

I used it a lot in L 3, but have not been able to get it to play in L4. Instead of playing the hymn it asks if I want to save the midi file. I am hoping that the music files will be added to the library so that it works like it did in L 3 but I haven't checked to see it this is going to happen

  • Re: Original language lemma searches

I ran them in BHS 4.2 (just try any of the words in Psalm 2:1) and did not get any results--oh and I limited the search to the book of Psalms. I did get results in BHS 3.5; but nit in version 4.0. I also tried the search in SEBS 2.0 and did not get any either. I wondering if everthing has been indexed. The Bibles come up ok they are just unsearchable

  • Re: Platinum-Locate the reverse interlinears...

If you bring up the NASB or the ESV of the KJV bible from your library and open it you should see a little button that says interlinear. Click on it and the interlinear opens at the bottomof the window.

  • Original language lemma searches

I have come across a problem in using L4 and am curious if others have experienced it. I am currently preaching through some of the psalms and noticed that I have no available visualizations in the exegetical report. The Andersen-Forbes Phrase Marker Analysis for the Hebrew bible is missing. I thought maybe it wasn't ready for L 4 and called tech support
. . . my score of 3.2 is set by my graphics card which is holding me back at the same number. My CPU is 4.9, RAM 4.9, HD 5.9. If I were to bring in a more robust Video card I would get a better score but certainly no better than 4.9 which is the next best number from my processor.
Thomas does your score include a

  • Re: Thoughts on Theological Journal Library

I have it and use quite frequently. It was extremely helpful for paper writing when I was in seminary and the searching capabilities have improved. You have to purchase the new (updated) journals every couple of years. They usually sell for around $50. Logos has done a great job of adding new journal resources.

Agreed. I was fortunate to pick up a copy of Burdick's book on the Epistles of John several years ago at Kregel's used books (before it closed). And I love Heibert's commentaries as well. Great suggestions.

I agree. I have most of the large packages from Pradis (EXBC; NICOTTE; NIDNT; NIVAC NT; and NIVAC OT Prophets) and am looking forward to having them in the Logos format. I just hope it will come at a significant discount. I was thinking about keeping the Pradis platform for these books but the functionality of Logos will move me to purchase them again

  • Re: Win 7 vs. Vista

Michael, the LapLink solution did not work for me. When attempting the install my system kept shutting down. I ended up having to re-format my HD and doing a clean install before the 64 bit addition would install correctly. I would certainly back up everything you needed before attempting it.

  • Re: Win 7 vs. Vista

Richard is right. From my experience there is not much difference in running L4 on vista 32 bit vs Win 7 64 bit. I was in the middle of upgrading my vista 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit when L4 came out. I laid off upgrading to see how L4 looked on vista. The download went smoothly and my library indexed overnight. I was pleased with the performance on vista
