• Re: Logos is my pearl

I use such a hodge podge of software, but when it comes to writing an academic paper, none of my other resources is sufficient for that task. I have repurchased books I already own, just to have them in logos.

I use Tecarta for my LASB and it works great. I like how it feels that you are actually reading the study Bible and stuff isn’t so separated out
There must be a sale since many Study Bibles are $7.99. It looks like a nice app, but it will definitely add up and I already own in Logos and Accordance

Once you have used the Tecarta app for study bibles, everything else feels lacking. Kindles are cheap. It is worth the money

Tecarta apps, not the website, have the best format for study Bible notes.
You've made me curious. What is the format?
You choose your desired translation, and then the study Bible notes that you want to view. The intext articles are embedded into the text, and there is a side panel

  • Re: The great MEV translation

I am also disappointed in where this translation is headed. I have the translation, but not the feature set to turn it into an interlinear. I also like the NIrV. Logos does not have the updated edition published years ago that matches the editions being published in hardcopy. I have to use the text from a faithlife ebook version that cannot be synced

But the notes are unique. I use these study notes alongside other Leland Ryken books and the IVP dictionaries and the Britannica Great Books set in my secular college English classes. Even secular professors admit that the Bible is THE or one of the most influential pieces of literature of all time. If the Bible is quoted alongside other ancient authors
They haven't said but based on past releases we can expect the free L9 engine upgrade in the first quarter of 2021.

The 15% off launch discount ends February 1st. I'd guess the free version would become available the next day, but only FL knows.
Thanks!
Noticed all Verbum Cloud subscription levels include MEV Reverse Interlinears => https://verbumcloud.com/pricing (annual payment costs less per month, but when subscription ends, access goes away). Least expensive feature upgrade having MEV Reverse Interlinears => https://www.logos.com/product/195576/verbum

I need to do that. I try not to bother them, even when it means paying more. But this is too far off.

  • Re: What are your Top 5 Bible Translations in 2021 and why?

I am a little frustrated trying to figure out the cheapest option to be able to use the MEV interlinear, without paying for things I don't want, while still being denied access to things that I still want very badly.
Yes, replaced 1982:NKJV with 2014:MEV in my BibleGrid group for Bible searching of many Bibles for Grid display. Thankful for MEV now having Reverse Interlinears => https://www.logos.com/product/197462/mev-ot-reverse-interlinear & => https://www.logos.com/product/197487/mev-nt-reverse-interlinear Thankful

I am glad that I bought Fundamentals. It frustrates me to no end, because I have just enough to know what I don't have, but ... LOL, now I know. Good luck!

Now might not be a good time for people to attempt to switch to Linux. There are some kernel problems and behind the scenes stuff going on, that makes it impossible for some people to keep their system running properly. I had to give up and put Windows on my HP stream if I wanted to get anything done right now. What I will do in the future remains to

Thank you all so much! I am so grateful for all the information and shared personal experiences. I have another more powerful computer that has a Nvidia card and the drivers are always messed up from updates and it cooks itself. I have that for backup when I absolutely must use the desktop app. I think I am going to just use the web app for Logos and

I found the videos at learnlogos.com really helpful. If you sign up for a subscription, you get an e-mail within a few days to lots and lots of recent webinars that you can download for free. With these videos and Fundamentals, you can get a really good idea of what is available for Logos and what you do and do not want. A subscription is $15.00 a month

Fundamentals is what I have. I paid $50 for it, only by knowing how to get to the page through a back door, during a 50% off sale that did not link to the Fundamentals page. I have never seen Fundamentals advertised at $50.00. Watching training videos shows me how much that I am missing. When searching, I get more advertising than usable information

I uninstalled Logos and reinstalled it on the card. So far it is working even faster than it did on the main drive. I have room for lots of books, but does the program run faster with fewer books installed? I use a very small number of resources on a daily basis and I am ready to embrace the "less is more" concept. I am very annoyed that I was forced
