after around 15 years of using, just south of 60,000 notes
Hi Chris. I have 50+notebooks, the largest with 32k notes. It's working fine in L9. Several versions ago I found, I found that, to get reasonable performance, I needed to split the notes into separate documents with no more than 32k notes (highlights actually
I feel a bit let down with Logos 9. Perhaps Logos 8 was simply that good of an upgrade.
That's the problem with the hype surrounding a new version, I guess, Christopher. It's the balance between creating expectations that aren't met, verses pointing out the considerable amount of additional functionality in

There seem to be 2 volumes: a text, and a commentary.

There seem to be 2 volumes, John: one as text; one as commentary.

Coupon didn't work for me either. No difference at all.

Hi MJ.Thanks for bearing your heart with us. What you share with us is always helpful, even when you’re crusading for us to open our eyes to something more than we already see. I have learned from both your content and approach. With gratitude, Allen.
Hey Allen, Thanks so much for the opinion brother, appreciate it. Awesome to see true blue representation on here I'm gathering then that i5 and 8GB RAM is sufficient. I'm wondering what the size of the library is however, because 512GB seems quite excessive to me - maybe Logos is very unoptimised in terms of size, but even
... I definitely would prefer a Surface to a MacBook, was looking to compare with iPad. But that's a good guide! Would you say an Surface Pro 7 with 256GB, an i5 and 8GB of RAM would be sufficient? Or would you say 16GB RAM with 512GB would be better? What would the difference be?
Hi Ilya The 512 GB would definitely
I am wondering if there are good resources in Logos that describes what it would have been like to be one of Jesus disciples. I am interested in two things 1) a deeper understanding of Jesus as Rabbi and 2) what would life had been like for a disciple of Jesus? Were they with Jesus constantly? How did they relate to him
Is there a difference between a creed and a manual or can they be one and the same? Ps. Also, how would creed and manual compare to a catechism?
Hi DAL Do you have any dictionaries in your Logos library? If you're "working on a mini book" it might be useful to include some definitions. For example, this is from IVP's Pocket
Are there any issues with LOGOS on a Solid State Drive?
Logos works really well with an SSD. Wouldn't run it any other way. Just make sure you use a large enough SSD that you will always have *plenty* of free space.
There seems to be a bug with the new filter "Geographic availability" - try setting this to "all" and it might work
Yes, NB.Mick. That addressed it. Thanks.

When choosing books to buy on the Logos website, is there a way to filter out the Faithlife ebooks? I tried selecting only books from Logos, Verbum, and Lexham Press, deselecting ebooks.faithlife.com. But the results are still full of books from ebooks.faithlife.com: Am I missing something? Thanks.
Love in the Shema is tagged with a different sense - "to love (care) - so try verb-sense:to love (care) AND object:God
Thanks Graham. That's what I needed. (I hadn't realized it was so specific.) 16 results from the OT, + 27 from the NT (two senses). That's a good start. Appreciated.

How do I find all the verses where God is the object of the verb to love? (Verses such as the Shema, but indicative as well as imperative)? This didn't return anything (as a Clause search): verb-sense:to love AND object:God TIA.
I ignore the errors. I use Times New Roman and yet the errors still claim I am using other fonts (which I am not). I always thought it must be a bug
Thanks, Mark. Good to know I'm not alone.
-
Actually, Times New Roman should not come in an error message - and doesn't for me - as this is the one Logos wants us to use: it will treat Times New Roman 12 pt as "standard" and convert it into the font you select for resource display in the Logos System Settings. Changing the fonts for standard text and headings to Times New

Hi friends. I'm creating a commentary on Ephesians, but the PBB complains about whatever font I use: Times New Roman or Arial, or anything.
Would you find it valuable to have more consistent author names, even if there are some unwanted short-term side effects?
Definitely. Very happy to accept any side effects (e.g. not matching my collection rules) if this can become more consistent. Thanks.
