FGH In the Church my niece attended in Moscow there was a small group of young people who were mostly rediscovering their Orthodox faith. They had almost the opposite problem. They were young and zealous and went to church wearing skirts and head coverings, Some of the older, probably middle age women hassled them about dressing up, saying they shouldn

Won't be at Princeton, but will be "attending" as much as I am able online. I did the same last year. There were some good lectures, I hope they got the technical aspects worked out. Enjoy Princeton. Jim W

I own the AGES edition, but in PDF format. I am assuming that this is not the edition being referenced as receiving a free update?

1. I did a basic search in my "Bible Dictionaries" collection for "Theodicy" with "Head Text" and "Large Text" checked. 2. I opened the result in ABD. 3. I read the first page, pushed the space bar to "turn" the page. 4. Got a message "LOGOS Bible Software 5 has stopped working" and "must close" Log file attached. Thank you. 5.0b Beta 1 (5.0.2.0441

Thanks Jon. I compiled the PB set it as type:Lectionary, prioritized it as my top/default lectionary. But, it does not show up on my Home Page ( I do have the Lectionary box checked), is it supposed to show up?

I'm not sure I want to post after reading all the difficulties others are having with crashes... but so far my installation appears to be functioning correctly.
But, in addition to Rosie's list we need St. John Climacus' Ladder and Canon of St. Andrew for traditional Lenten reading. Logos ought to be able to provide it by the beginning of Lent ...i.e. 23 minutes ago.
According to the Orthodox new calender, Logos still has 4+ days until the beginning of Great Lent. I updated today to 4.5a Beta 3. Now LOGOS will open. But, when I hover my mouse over a footnote, superscript # to see footnote popup (and in info panel) the program stops working. I tried it in several different resources, in several different layouts and it continued to crash. When I change the setting to "Show Footnotes on Page" it works fine. I just

Another perspective if you will? I am at this time reading Scott Hahn's "Kinship by Covenant" in which Hahn speaks of what he sees as the essential connection between "covenant" and "oath". So I did a search in all my Bible dictionaries for the two words. AYBD has no article on "Oath", and in the IVP series only the "Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels
What's also very disappointing is that they virtually never seem to do the decent thing and send out an e-mail alerting us to the change in our order. We always seem to have to find these things out for ourselves and alert each other. There may be people out there who don't find this bundle worth the price any more. They shouldn't

Thanks to both George and Hapax. Both are helpful. I have both of them in Greek, in L4, and have read both in English, so at least have some idea of what they are about. On to reading Greek.

So, for someone who knows koine Greek, reads from the NT daily, and has many Greek works in L4 ( Philo, the Apostolic Fathers, and now the Perseus collection) where would be a good place to start expanding outside of the NT.
-
I bought the CLB collection and had no trouble downloading. Then I had both versions of the Fathers in my library and went through and "hid" the one I didn't want.

Thanks Tim, That did it.
