• Re: Volume missing from commentary!

I'm a little disturbed that after being noted a year ago, the product page does not give any hints that the resource is incomplete unless you read the description on volume 2. That is a bad look.

  • Re: Bible word study: How do you choose which words are worth studying?

I think that I would rather do too many words studies than too few. Logos makes it so fast and easy to get a quick introduction that there is not much risk by opening the tab. If a word is a major verb, the center of a main point, confusing to me, or if I think it would be confusing to an unchurched person, I right click it. Often, skimming the other

  • Re: Factbook for Numbered Biblical Books

Thanks, Andrew. Logos 9 is such a fantastic iterative improvement over the already great 8 that I am constantly noticing little improvements I had not recognized before, so this kind of stuff stands out more than it would have otherwise.

  • Factbook for Numbered Biblical Books

When I type "1 Peter" into the Factbook, I get a long list of commentaries by that title. I know Logos well enough to realize that I should have entered "First Epistle of Peter." But if the Factbook is being increasingly pushed by Faithlife as the go-to location for new users, I think that when there is an an equivalent "Named Text" entry in the Factbook

  • Re: In INTERTEXT search how do I specify any Target?

I don't see what to do except make a passage list of all the targets from Genesis-Revelation, then a passage list of all the sources from Genesis to Revelation and then make a third passage list based on the difference between the two. It is clunky but without a NOT operator, I don't see a better way. I guess you could just list the target as all of

How about {Label Intertext WHERE Source ~<Genesis-Malachi>}?

  • Re: How Many Greek NT Manuscripts? 5808 or 5657?

The simplest theory is that the Institute for New Testament Textual Research has 5808 and that Logos has only(!) logged 5657 of those into the New Testament Manuscript Explorer system.

  • Re: maps
I see this now, though I don't have time to explore all this. There are places, like in Hosea, where you're guessing whether it's the city or the valley. The FB lists only 5 key passages for this. It missed the whole Jehu thing that Hosea referred to. The old Factbook had an option where you could make comments on how to improve
Thanks, it doesn't work at all. I did see in another forum that a working version is slated for end of next month. I guess we shall see...
Doesn't work like doesn't load? Or doesn't give the expected results? Or doesn't have some feature you need? There are plenty of people here who would be happy to help. The reason

  • Re: New Testament Use of the Old Testament

Not directly, unfortunately. It looks like you can only get at it through search and the interactive, which does not have an export option. Through search, you could do something like {Label Intertext WHERE Relationship ~ "Citation" AND Source ~ <Genesis–Malachi>} and get a passage list of all of the New Testament passages that cite the
I have over 250 books from my old WS library. I was offered, like everyone else, Logos 8. I had to have a CS rep load it onto my computer because it wouldn't work otherwise. So, "ebook" in Logospeak means doesn't work right yet? Even the web version doesn't work. • Re: maps

The problem is that Logos does not do well when similar things have the same name. My first guess is that you have the wrong Jezreel. Factbook has one entry for Valley of Jezreel (with several good maps for me), Jezreel (of Issachar) (bullseye), and one for Jezreel (of Judah) (which also has some maps but is not the place normally meant), and List of
This is the job of the See Also section, which shows many entries that are related in a variety of different ways. We don't yet have data that captures this particular concept of "similar but not the same". Promoting this kind of link to the top header area (when it's available) could be possible, but we have

You need a tilde, not an equals sign. {Label Intertext WHERE Relationship ~ "Allusion" AND Source ~ <Isaiah>} When you open a new search window, click "Use search templates" (second from the bottom) and there is a wizard for NT use of the OT searches.

  • Hide Ebooks when I have the Logos Edition Too

Is there a convenient way to find all of the books in my library for which I have a Logos Research Edition and an Ebook edition? For example, I had Calling on the Name of the Lord: A Biblical Theology of Prayer in both. When I read through it, I was always mildly irritated by accidentally getting into the wrong one (they actually both show as half-read
