• Missed the Monthly Sale

For the first time, I completely missed a monthly sale: September 2021. Life interrupted my Verbum studies. :( Is there a way to access the previous month or once the month ends, the sale is gone?

I preordered in a few months ago and have resisted the urge to buy the book itself. Can’t wait till it’s avbl here!

Thanks for clarifying. It would be helpful if they displayed some sort of real-time status as to the percentage of funding achieved, without a projected completion date. Just so we have an idea if it’s even realistic to expect a product.

  • Pre-Publication Products

It would be very helpful if an “Estimated Release Date” was given to the pre-pub products that we are paying for. Right now, it could be a month, a year or 5 years, before we receive the product. The point being: we have ZERO idea.

  • Re: Ancient Literature

I wasn't aware that it was free. I received an email from Verbum inquiring as to whether I was interested in upgrading. So I assumed it was a sales pitch. I just checked my version and the software, features and library upgrades are all available.

I'm not able to replicate the Passage Guide like yours to show all the ancient commentaries. Here's what mine looks like:

Thank you Graham and MJ. Is there any other tool/guide that can be searched to find Scriptural passages cited or alluded to by the ECF?

  • Re: Ancient Literature

I'm trying to understand why some of the early fathers docs are not being referenced in my Ancient Literature guide. For instance, when searching for all references/citations/allusions to John 18:1, the guide is not pulling up Cyril of Alexandria's Commentary on John (even though I know that he specifically quotes that passage). Is there a way to edit

  • Election of Israel

Has anyone researched the Early Church or theologians who have speculated as to why God gratuitously chose Israel, i.e., of all the peoples, why did He choose Abraham through whom to bring forth the Messiah? My searches having been coming back empty. I would welcome any suggestions!

  • Opening in new panels

How does the application determine where a panel opens up in your layout? For example, suppose I have a quad layout and when I run a search, the results open in a new panel. Sometimes the panel opens in the top right quadrant or in the lower left quadrant and so on. Is there a rule that the app follows? And can we have the search results open in a floating
I have updated this file, a list of explanations and comments on Bible passages that would not be picked up by the Passage Guide. It includes all the books in the Logos 5 Platinum package that have such explanations, and many others beside. There is a complete list of books included, sorted according the package they are

Mattillo, thanks for that explanation. If it wasn't for the folks here on this board, I don't see how we would even know how to operate Logos beyond the very basics. I suppose if I was a full-time "scholar" or researcher, then I could devote all my energy and time to learning as much of the functionality as I could. But that just isn't realistic for
Here is the NT: <Lemma = lbs/el/ζάω> WITHIN 5 WORDS <Lemma = lbs/el/ὕδωρ>
Thanks Justin! By selecting "Search" under the "Copy Reference" I got the lbs/el/ὕδωρ . How is that different from just typing ὕδωρ ?

  • What's the most effective way to search for a combination of words in the original language?

I couldn't figure this out from the Verbum training videos and hoping someone here can guide me. Suppose I want to find the occurrence of a phrase, or more accurately a combination of terms, in the entire Bible, e.g., living water. If I put the words in quotations, I'll get the exact occurrences, but what if the words occur in the same verse but not
Otherwise, it is a matter of spending time with Logos. In this case, play with the Topic Guide to see what it can provide you that is missed by the Passage Guide.
I just went to the Topic Guide and, although I couldn't narrow the topic any narrower than the entire Gospel of John, the article was there under Journals.

MJ, you did post it. But I didn't want to continue asking follow up questions in that thread and that's why I started this thread. I did not understand your instructions well and was hoping to continue the exchange here.

  • Passage Guide did not find a resource in the Library

I'm studying the Temple Cleansing in John 2:13-25 . I opened the Passage Guide and was hoping to find a journal article. Under the category of Journals , "no results" was displayed. Letter & Spirit journals are in my Library. One volume in particular is "Letter & Spirit: A Journal of Catholic Biblical Theology, Volume 4 • 2008". Letter
