• Re: Kindle Fire HD 10.1

Joe, Thanks for the response. I did get an email from the support team with the suggestion that I uninstall and reinstall. I had already done that based in the response to an earlier set of l ogs I had submitted. That approach was essentially to no avail as the symptoms recurred within a few days after the reinstall. I'm experiencing the same symptoms
If you take a look at the book in your library titled "Preaching Themes: Dataset Documentation", you will find documentation on how Preaching Theme tagging was applied. In particular, you will note that tagging is applied at the level of pericopes, not individual verses. In addition, the tagging is only applied when a

Yes, I've had similar problems using both Logos and Verbum. It didn't used to be that way. I think it just started with 9.15.0 Build (915000130). I have submitted logs but haven't received a response.

I get the same result regardless of case. In other words, the 2011 and the 1984 edition both show up for me when I to a library search using either niv or NIV.

Correct. The 2011 edition just has NIV as its short name.

One comment on this thread regarding the rhetorical aspect for those that have followed it or may come to it later. After reviewing the results of the search for the rhetorical aspect, this recommendation
A more direct approach is to use {Label Question WHERE Rhetorical=true} and you will find that Lk 1.43 is classed as rhetorical

Here's an update to the query with the additional results due to search order. You'll notice that there is an extra result for Luke 1:43 in the NASB95 Update edition as compared to the NASB96 Paragraph Version edition. That difference is where there is a Greek word that is not assigned to a particular English word. There are three other cases in Luke

  • Re: BUG: Inconsistent tagging in NASB95

Thanks for the responses. I understand better now. As I had taken the original query from the blog I hadn't stopped to consider whether it was constructed correctly; I just assumed it was. Now with swapping the terms I get significantly more results, although there are still differences in the two editions. I still think there is a difference that should

  • Re: BUG: Inconsistent tagging in NASB95

I wasn't trying to decide what was rhetorical and what was not in this case. I was simply observing that there was a difference between the two NASB95 editions that presumably are the same except for the paragraphing. As it is also a simple example taken from the blog post, one that is restricted in its query and one that is only looking in Luke, I

  • BUG: Inconsistent tagging in NASB95

I ran the rhetorical question search that was in a recent blog ( https://www.logos.com/grow/how-to-find-rhetorical-questions-in-the-bible/ ). In the first attempt (NASB95: Paragraph Version) the Luke 1:43 passage was not included. As this was different from what MP had shown in the blog I ran it again using NASB95: 1995 Update, which was the same version
Yes, I'm being sarcastic. But realistically sarcastic ... they started out doing 'Bibles'. I'd think they'd be pretty familiar with Bibles. I stayed on Logos7 for years, and recently 'upgraded' to Logos9. And I'm unimpressed ... 4 years later and still? - They still can't put Bible books in order (commentaries, etc). That truly amazes
Analogies break down, but to be married there is typically attraction, relationship, ceremony, family, etc. None of those alone "cause" marriage. They are marriage. Salvation, in some ways, may be similar.
Yes, analogies really break down, because that one is culturally dependent.

I'm a bit surprised that no one has suggested using Clippings. It lets you change the font size of the selected text and of any notes you make about the text independently. It doesn't leave a marker in the document from which you made the clipping. You can add a tag in addition to the notes to the clipping you made. Maybe there are some deficiencies
Thanks to PL and xnman in another thread, I have had a major breakthrough in understanding the problem of the "search". One group of complaints about the search is not a search issue at all. It is quick access to basic "facts" where one is not interested in where the information is found, what support there is for the fact.
