• Re: Getting A New MacBook for Logos 8 Use - Suggestions Please!
Does the MBP I linked above have a dedicated graphics card?
I can't tell for sure from the specs. Would prefer it said something like ...card discrete GPU with 4GB GDDR5 memory. But, if one of the forumites can't answer this is a good question for the rep.

Levi is an old pro so listen to him. But, I recently bought a MBP and there is one decision that I wish I had acted upon besides getting 512 SSD. I wish I had opted for the dedicated graphics card. L8 is a hog of a program and it heats the device up. Something I have been told that the dedicated graphics card reduces although as some have complained
Hi Beloved: With respect to your recommendations, are there parallel resources that can be used in the following?: https://www.logos.com/product/9438/amg-bible-essentials I ask because the exact title for the first resource is found in Kindle, but not in Logos. How about: https://www.logos.com/product/62010/new-testament

  • Re: Can I get Hebrew glosses when I hover over a word, and not just Strong's numbers?

Actually, I'm wrong it works whether Corresponding selection is selected or not for me. I did a random test on Obadiah, Malachi and Revelation and I got glosses for all. Strange! don't know why it works for me and not for you all.
How do you choose to have the gloss on hover in ESV?
Select the Visual Filter icon (three dots forming a triangle) and select the Corresponding selection box as shown below.
But I'm also bummed that the ESV provides a gloss when hovering in the NT, but not in the OT.
ESV OT provides Hebrew gloss on hover or click; your preference.

Lexham Hebrew Bible gives you a single word gloss. BHS does not.

Hi Landon, I'm late to the party so you've probably already made your decision about the resources you should purchase but, as a fellow layperson with an early interest in the original languages I offer you my view on the matter. Before I took the plunge into a serious study of the languages I found the Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible edited by Spiros
FL had good intentions to provide a journal product that integrated better into Logos, but in doing so created this problem. They need to figure out how to resolve it. These are essential resources that need be produced and sold.
Agree! Agree! Agree! Very well stated. Why FL has allowed this problem to languish in
I have often wished for a SQL language-like interface. It would've been easy with that, too!
Yes, a natural language interface to the database would be an exciting addition to the capabilities of L8! What is the feasibility of implementing this feature?
For a kind of obtuse need. I want to find all the verses in NT of the ESV Bible that have exactly 8 words
If it is truly important to you. The only way I see that you can accomplish this is by simple inspection. To test the feasibility of this I started with the shortest book in the NT Pm 1-25 and found no 8 word

Reading Acts 11.1-30 navigating to the various places mentioned in this chapter. Note that the map functioning is very inconsistent and loads very slowly at times also, when you navigate within the menu for other selections, I find that at times it fails to load and in order for the selection to load you have to close Atlas and reopen then reselect
