  • Re: Desktop vs iPad

The great joy for me is that when I am working on my desktop, whatever references I've been opening are readily visible in my iPad library. This gives me some real momentum if I happen to be away from my desktop app. This is especially true for commentaries and whatever other book I am trying to work through. Logos on iPad is very cool!

  • Re: Mac Book Pro Users

I was going to buy an MBP with a 16" screen, but the new Intel one was very late on arrival so I wound up with an XPS 15" with a 4K screen. I absolutely love it. Screen size matters. When the new MBPs come out in the fall I probably will get a 16" to replace my 9 year old mac mini. I think the 14 would work if I plugged it into a good monitor. You get

  • Re: L9 Bible Engagement Project BP ... any good?

I emailed Global University just in case I thought I would ever want a sheepskin to go with the set. It's actually a pretty cheap way to get a Bible college education if you want one. For now, I think I will just review the material.

  • Re: L9 Bible Engagement Project BP ... any good?

It's a dirt cheap way to acquire the course books and some other useful references. I leveraged the dynamic pricing purchase method to shave about 20% off acquiring everything. The extra bucks I saved paid for an Apologetics Library expansion. I serve in a little church that is affiliated with the Assemblies. I'm not the pastor and I don't play one

  • Re: iPad recommendations, please

More space never hurts. I got 256 back when I bought mine because I thought I would want more library on it and I put a bunch of music on it too. Seems like I still have gobs of room left. I think 128 should rock. I see an iPad as at least a 5 year investment. My wife still uses my old one.

I got an email promising fulfillment of TCR to WordSearch owners this week. But nothing promising fulfillment to Logos users who in good faith put a preorder in for it. I know there is an issue, but Logos has the means to do the right thing. I certainly don't mind paying more for this reference if they would just get on with it and get this into Logos

  • Re: Is it possible to run two separate Layouts simultaneously?

If you have a decent machine and internet, it's really amazing how fast you can bring up a layout. I have a customized passage study layout that is really big. It flies open on my machine in maybe 10 seconds. A smaller layout is nearly instant. I think a dual layout should be offered in a future release, But you will want hardware up for the task.

This looks like a way to run Windows via internet cloud on practically anything. Is that for real? That could be way to run Logos on some platform that doesn't otherwise support it so readily.

  • Re: Pre-Pubs Pending Cancellation

I put in for two of these books. I have no idea how FL calculates a viable profit to fund the work of putting a book into Logos but I am sure it's not cheap to do. I think maybe they should beat the drum more to push pre-pubs. There's a lot of books and most people are simply not aware of them unless they are brought up to our attention on a regular

So very sad to hear. I will keep Morris in prayer. God has this and most surely has her. For that we can be sure in a world that doesn't have the same consolation.

  • Re: "New Testament Originally in Aramaic": Resources?

Somewhere in my Logos library, I read something by Stanley Porter that pretty much explained why this is all utterly implausible and I've since found other things confirming it. There is still a truckload of Hebraisms and a storehouse of Semitic stuff in the NT. It's just not tied to something not verifiable. Pulling truth from what you do have is much

  • Re: Effect of Windows 11 on operation of LOGOS?

Looks like Windows 11 will probably be a bump free update for Logos. They said there might be some little cross Win 10/11 compatibility things developers will have to contend with but whatever they are working on currently should be supported when Windows 11 arrives. Maybe some jazzed up interface things going forward. Sounds pretty good.

The LSB puts the focus where it belongs. Maybe I am biased, but I won't apologize.

I thought this was going to come back out with WordSearch and now I can't find it anywhere save the Spanish edition. My understanding is that Zondervan now owns the TCR. Is this going to be long gone toast again?

According to the little app, my PC is fine and good to go for 11. I don't really see all that much utility in the new operating systems. There's more gingerbread for how the computer presents things to you. It's interface and frankly I still function closer to a Windows 7 style with a Mac Dock type program. It is perfect for me. I hope I can retain

I consider that a very good sign that it is mostly stable. I think we are getting closer to not having the rug being pulled out from under us with every new release. Considering how beta that OS is, I don't expect it to go south in the future.
