Working now. I've seen that error before. Server side mischief or maintenance.

  • Re: 1) Why Logos and 2) Why Logos over Accordance

I threw my lot in with Logos after being on the Beta with a very small Logos library I had on my PC. The reason became clear in the initial experience. Logos 4 puts everything on the table. Like having a couple dozen books open to the right place when you do a Bible search. If you just want one open, you can do that too. I don't need a reference to

You also might want to make sure you deleted everything from your original L4M install as well.

Another -1 on the text fade. It's one thing to do it on an image, but not merited on text. Is there some reason beyond design that we don't understand in your plan? For the most part, this site is improving and I'm greatly encourage in your efforts!

  • Re: Poor mac performance

I have L4M on a Mini and L4 on an XP PC both have a marginal 2GB RAM. I'd have to say both versions are close, with an edge to the Win platform. I think this will shake out pretty soon. We are such an impatient bunch.

  • Search Setup Redux

When I bring up the layout I made to use my passage guide and display of resources such as Bibles and Commentaries, apparently they don't seem to be fully linked (or perhaps my machine is such a sluggard that it doesn't seem to be so when I look but I am not sure that's the case), The exegetical guide doesn't automatically update with the passage guide

  • Re: Changing the Go Passage Search Output

I saved a layout that I set up from the basic one, so now it appears to run the tighter search and display what I want. I probably will refine this and make different layouts, but now at least I have a great starting point. Thank you Thomas and Robert!

Thomas, Ok that's almost exactly what I want. The one thing I'm still missing is how to have the bible selections to display that I want like BHS, NA27, LXX along with other English ones. My default ESV is fine.

  • Changing the Go Passage Search Output

I'm a newbie with Scholar (a dangerous combination...) so bear with me. I typically just throw my verse reference in to the Go search and wait while it brings everything up-just wonderful. So I thought it would be better if I just asked for a specific output (for less searching and faster results) and to use my preferred Bible choices. I made a new

  • Re: Anyone have a good estimate on download time for Scholar?

Thomas, Thank you. I've been using the MacArthur Library on 3.0 for awhile, but Logos sort of took a back seat. I have a whole hodgepodge of bible software on both Mac and PC. Logos seems to have the best of everything. So now I expect most of the others will be taking a back seat, mainly for library information that I have on them. Michael

Everything seems to up and running with a few more updates. The indexing seems to be the next rite of Logos passage. I'll run some errands and everything should be ready. My little bit of use so far has me even more eager to have it. Woo Hoo!

It's downloading now...started at about 9 CST, at about 46% last glance. I'm heading off to . Since I had my L4M installed I needed 5.5 G, so that cut some time off. Will arise early as I am guessing it will need a restart and begin indexing all the new stuff. PS Snuck a peak at Biblia to see my new library and browse. I'm real excited!

While I'm sleeping...that might work much better...except that I'm a bit obsessive. I guess the download would pick up again if something happened. Just got to remember to turn off my Gmail notifier. I have it set to play a Shofar blasting audio file when I get incoming messages...

I'm using Earthlink DSL and they are using an unclarified abbreviated term (!) so I think we're talking megabits. Maybe if i get up early in the morning I might get this done.

  • Anyone have a good estimate on download time for Scholar?

I've got a DSL line with about 1.3 MBps. Can anyone tell me roughly how long Scholar should take to download/install. Not worried about the indexing. I've got to be available for an event but don't want to have scheduling conflict.

  • Top 10 Logos 4 Tricks

Hi I have been absolutely jumping through hoops to make enough to seal the deal on a Logos 4 upgrade this month. Since I am likely to be exhausted by Sept 30th, I was wondering if some of you might share the best techniques you've learned to make your work easier with Logos 4. I know that I am not going to learn everything overnight or even over a year

  • Re: What's up w/ my Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear?

There are at least a couple of web sites that show interlinear displays of Greek and Hebrew with the English. I never bothered doing a View Source to see how they did it, but perhaps there might be a clue to doing it that you haven't considered. I imagine it's still a mess with all the different browsers, but that's always a web developer's migraine
