  • Re: Exegetical Fallacies

Carson writes for those who will hopefully avoid making the mistakes he covers. A person who is not engaged in regular Bible exegesis won't get it. Those who do, will, and appreciate it.

  • Re: Summa editions

Probably nothing much save for a specialist I presume and that would probably mean pulling up the Latin side which I still haven't acquired working knowledge to get anything useful from.

  • Re: Summa editions

I think I found a partial answer as per the print edition of the Aquinas institute edition. I assume it's a better translation but it doesn't necessarily have any bells or whistles.

  • Summa editions

Is there anything significant about the more expensive edition with Latin of the Summa compared to the cheaper edition? Better translation or notes?

  • Re: Readable, Understandable KJV Version

I love the KJV, but I suggest the NKJV for those grappling with the wording. Some KJV editions have some word helps, the New Scofield Bible updated some of the wording of the KJV to make it more viable. The reason for using the KJV or reading an updated version is not so much as being retro but the fact that anyone with a real library will find that

Perfect! Thank you so much. I never used that feature even on the desktop app. But now I will!

  • Enlarging tab in Web App

I was thinking about working in Sermon Builder on the web app but I don't see a way to make the panel tab fill the page as I do in the Windows desktop app. Is this not possible?

  • Re: Cross-references

Looks like the Cross-Reference guide is kind of buried at the bottom of the list. That's not so convenient, but you can right click on it and pin it to the top. Cross references being an awesome tool that is really where they belong!

  • Re: John Stott Sermon Archive Question

The are tons of sermons in book form that have no such outlines either. FL would likely have to hire some folks to do the heavy lifting on creating outlines. Not all sermon writers are inclined to build outlines.

  • Re: Surviving and Thriving in Seminary

If you want to pursue ministry, you need all your spiritual armor and a thick skin. If you have that, books help a lot.

  • Re: Question on Typology of Noah’s Ark

The Hebrew used for floating on the water is actually "walk". The mystery of Christ walking on the water in the gospel record was typologically prefigured by the Ark. I think it's actually no particular discredit to Peter to expect people to do what only Messiah can do.

[quote user="Austin Bush"] I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're asking for or not, and if not, please provide me additional details as to the steps you're hoping to take. However, if you have a current sermon document with slides that you want to replace with your own design, you can click "Edit" on that slide which will open the Media tool.

Is there a way to make and import custom slide templates into Logos 9 for Sermon Builder. I am guessing this is an unsupported shoehorn operation but I bet someone knows how to do it.

  • Re: Bible Reading Plan 2022

I've been on the Grant Horner plan for about a couple of years. I started with the KJV because I still reference numerous works which cite it, but I opted for the NKJV about 3 months in. It bridges the English gap better for me and stays close to the Majority read. I do my readings in a bound Bible. I'm living vintage so I have my liberty. I got a fabulous

  • Re: OP-ed on the NRSVue

One of the callings of ministry is to explain the ancient world context not polish it over. This kind of translation seeks to pretend it doesn't exist in the text but it does. Something about that in the proclamation of truth only makes it harder to proclaim.

  • Re: MacBook Air or MacBook Pro 14 and Logos

Figure that you want a good chunk more room than your library. Logos can easily use another 30GB or so when indexing your library. You want room for new resources and other files that you create. Buying less than 512GB drive is just not a strategy for a savvy shopper anymore.
