Hi again Mark Have sat down with my laptop and tried to follow your steps but to no avail. Can you possibly further clarify 5,6,and 7. Is it only that one window 'Search' that you're working from or do you mean to open up a new window in a new tab with esv?

Hi again Dave Thanks for your help. One last question: What happens if it's not immediately clear what the Hebrew text reference is? I would assume I would have to do a search in Text Converter to get the Hebrew and then do a search in Hebrew as you suggested. It just seems a bit cumbersome and would be great if the search could be streamlined a bit

Dave, most books use Hebrew transliteration of phrases. Does that mean you have to convert from transliteration to Hebrew before you can do a search?

  • Hebrew Study in Logos 8

What's the best way to do a search of specific Hebrew phrases in the first five books, to find out how often they occur? When reading a textbook you will often come across a claim that a specific Hebrew phrase occurs a specific number of times. How best to verify using Logos 8?

  • Re: Suggestion for Scholars re- Pentateuch

I beg your pardon. I have been able to purchase Whybray's book as a stand alone

  • Re: Suggestion for Scholars re- Pentateuch

Shalom HJ Thanks for that. Unfortunately I noticed Whybray's books 'Introduction to the Pentateuch' is not available to purchase as a stand alone book. I would still however strongly recommend to Logos Richard Elliott's wonderful book 'Who Wrote The Bible' which is accessible to scholar and layman alike in how it is written.

  • Suggestion for Scholars re- Pentateuch

Logos, how about producing some serious books for the Hebrew scholars. For example with regard to Pentateuchal studies: Wellhausen, Julius. Prolegomena to the History of Ancient Israel Friedman, Richard Elliott (1987). Who Wrote The Bible Van Seters, John. Abraham in History and Tradition. New Haven: Yale University Press, 1975. ———

  • The Oxford Companion to the Bible

Now that Logos has the excellent resource, The Oxford Bible Commentary, can anyone advise whether there are plans afoot for The Oxford Companion to the Bible. I would recommend it be seriously considered as it's a wonderful companion to the Commentary for Hebrew Bible students and teachers.

Thanks Bruce Glad you let me know your views and that you appreciate having books that don't agree with your view of biblical theology. :( even though I didn't ask your opinion. Funnily enough 'me too'!!!!! I don't just have resources that 'match' my beliefs as you condescendingly imply. You might just guess from my name that I'm in ministry and it
