• Re: Christmas Gifts...

Wouldn't this have been great as a companion feature to the wishlist? Amazon have done a great job putting the two features together. I've got to say that since Amazon have done it, the quality of gift giving has gone up and the number of after Christmas returns have gone down. Clearly they have a manual process going at the moment. Maybe they need

  • Boman: "Greek Thought and Hebraic Thought": ISBN 0393005348

This book is quite seminal and has many intriguing ideas. I've read the chapter on Time and the implications are fascinating. Some good reviews at Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/3pa6q5s Looks like an invaluable addition to any collection seeking to study the Historical Jesus.

Duh, it turns out that Personal Books feature doesn't yet support sharing them: i.e. they have to be recompiled from a docx file for each instance of Logos! See Grainger's comment on this thread: http://tinyurl.com/3nd9fqa Anyway, I have uploaded the docx file for you here: http://tinyurl.com/3ncab44 Fortunately compiling such simple books is really

Hi Avi I just made a Parasha Reading Schedule as a Personal Book. If you want it let me know where to send it. Cheers
I saw the other Lectionaries available and was wondering if there was one for Parasha or the Torah reading cycle. I think I can just book mark www.torahportions.org in my favorites but it would be cool to have
There is a rabbinical school of thought that Abraham had the entire Torah revealed to him too. Others think this is drawing a long bow and just say that he was faithful to what God had commanded him to do at the time and then taught them to his children. @ M J Smith: Quite right, they are pricey. I suppose for them, it comes down to weighing off the huge amount of research and reading that went into preparing them against the price and volume they think they can get. If they published it on Logos I'm sure there will be many more sales which might help get the price down. We certainly haven't regretted

Yeah, our home bible study has done all five volumes. Now we're studying Galatians before moving onto Romans. Its all certainly changed us. We are such careful readers now. If you're interested in this kind of thing, reading Brown's Jewish Objections to Jesus , Stern's Jewish NT Commentary, and JPS commentaries on the Pentateuch and Haftarah 's are
but I am not totally on-board with all of their perspectives.
One of the good things about Torah Club was that it encourages reading widely, openly discussing and debating the potential meanings of scriptural passages; which are all great skills for all Christians to have and nurture. It encourages identifying a diversity

  • FFOZ publications

Hi Logos and Logos Users I have been impressed by the thoroughness and accessibility of the teaching material produced by First Fruits of Zion (www.ffoz.org). A lot of their material would be even more useful if Logos' search engine was unleashed on it. If you've used FFOZ's material such as Torah Club or any other FFOZ book, before, or you're interested

FFOZ's material is commercial, so the likelihood of them granting permission to make the conversion and then make it available freely to everyone else is remote. I think a deal between FFOZ as publisher and Logos similar to the kinds of arrangements Logos has with Zondervan or Thomas Nelson has more chance of succeeding. But to make it worthwhile, both
