I agree with the sentiment that is being expressed, that study of God's word is to be thorough, and it should take time for that to happen. I do agree with some of the thoughts that are being expressed, especially complacency and laziness must be guarded against. There is always the very real possibility of self-sufficiency when it comes to study or

ST I got a good chuckle from your quote. GS your quote is even better, I'll have to remember the depth and complexity of that one, can't wait to use that one sometime. I catalog quotes I run across for use in our church bulletins To pull this back to logos has there been any word of late how they are going to rework handout part of the program

Though this is a little off topic I thought I would share this with my Brothers and sisters in Christ Now let me say right up front - their is no controversy intended; I use the very things he speaks of when I study in fact i emphasized in bold the part where he attest there is nothing wrong with those things, in fact I believe they help provide depth

Off Topic: I only have 2K invested in Logos in the 9 months since i started using it, and my wife has just about flipped out, I could only imagine her reaction with that much money invested. Just made me chuckle at the thought of it. Sorry to derail the the thread

I am in the rock and hard place also, I was going to upgrade my silver to a platinum base package before the discounts expired, but now am looking at This sale as a alternative. I hate wanting things, life would be so much easier if we didn't. With this, discount upgrades, SIL offer, the nelson WBC that just expired, it has taken every bit of willpower

Hey thanks for the reply, I do have LN and did read that definition. I was trying to get a better grasp on the two words contained in that passage and how they related together. Forgive me, as I wasn't trying to get into a theological debate. I will gladly edit the previous post out if it is felt it is not consistent with the forum guidelines! My grandmother

I have been studying the phrase Ἀδελφοί, ἐὰν καὶ προληφθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἔν τινι παραπτώματι , (. The New Testament in Greek (Scrivener 1881) (Ga 6:1).) from Galatians 6.1 and see that there are several ideas concerning the interpretation of the two words which are in bold. KJV states the phrase as "overtaken in a fault" it has also been translated as caught

Thanks for your help Alabama and calling that to my attention. I have the New Testament in Greek (Scrivener 1881) which shows up in my tabs in logos 4 as scrivener 1881. That created the confusion I knew I had open something that said scrivener 1881 I didn't realize that it was a different version. Like usual i jumped the gun instead of being more cautious

I preached for the first time with my iPad today, and other than the glare of the pulpit lights I really liked it. Instead of turning pages I just had to scroll down a little bit. I am looking forward to transferring a bulk of messages over, so I don't have to carry so many "just in case" messages in my Bible. I used file app tp transfer it over but
