Regarding Isaiah 53:5 , try using the clause search in the NT for Person:Jesus and limit your search to 1 Peter. You will find that the parallel OT in the NT for the Isaiah passage is included as referring to Him, ie Jesus. So where the OT is quoted as a reference to Jesus the Clause search will pick it up.
I think the
Thanks Kevin... Should subject:Jesus pull up results in the LHB?
No If it did there would be some big interpretive steps happening . I did just run that search and got 0 results. Did you get any?

Correct, pick what you want based on the testament you want to search. It's one of my favorite new features in L5, being able to find all those tagged people as subject/object regardless of word used.
Would you folks mind checking your results against mine?
This is indeed curious. Your results are different than mine. I did notice that the Grammatical Relationships Section indicated that there is the possiblity of different databases being consulted. My seems to be pulling from Opentext.org. Does your show the same

Are you doing a Basic, Bible, or Clause Search? If you do an entire library search for John Mark it should give you a Topic section with articles relating to John Mark.

If you ran a BWS on a Greek word and then in the Translation section you got a pop-up over an English word that has other Greek works then those are the Greek words that are also rendered as that English word. For example agape is rendered love, hovering over the section tells me that plileo is also translated as love.
I hope it fixes my problem.
I hope so too. For future reference you can use some of the steps here: to avoid most of the downloading http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers

The Type is set by Logos. A Dictionary is typically a modern (usually) language lexicon and an Encyclopedia is a work that has short or long articles on words/topics. EDIT: The title of a work may have the word Dictionary but for classification Encyclopedia is a better fit to differentiate it from a work like Merriam-Websters or COED.

You can also use it to find where someone does something. For example, find things that Jesus said (where the verb is used) subject:Jesus verb:to say It catches even places where it's translated "he said"

I thought I had remembered that Libronix Bible Search had VERSES as an option for proximity search, but it didn't:
I'm pretty sure we had it at one time, but that's unimportant. Being limited to terms within a verse is limiting, and in this case the limitation is bad.
I'm not willing
I still need to find out if by purchasing a Verbum package I get Logos 5 or not.
The answer is yes. Verbum is L5 re-branded for the Catholic packages, a new logo, and slightly different settings. Since you probably started off with a regular L4 package you'll need to run the command "Set Verbum to Yes" after you

Interesting. I've not seen this particular problem before. That black box at the top reminds me of the way Logos acts when a video card is overtaxed/can't keep up. Have you recently updated any video drivers? My first though would be to reinstall video drivers. I might also suggest trying the command Set Custom Chrome to No but you don't have the command

L5 still uses mono but, if memory serves, an updated version. I'm not a mac user but by all accounts I've read L5 is much faster and more responsive than L4.
One more question to those who've made the jump to 5: will it overwrite 4 or install along side of it, and will it use existing resources I downloaded or re-download my entire library?
5 overwrites 4 and uses the same resources. However, there is still a big download because many resources were rebuilt for L5.

I just check on my Android device and the download button appears on the about screen for both the SBL GNT and its apparatus.

Logos5 shows NA28 as being in some of the higher bundles. I'm assuming this is without apparatus.
AFAIK: true. Does L4 support getting shared documents or is it just L5?
-
Don't despair, it's coming. I think they are just making sure all the bugs are worked out.
-
I don't think document sharing through Faithlife is functional right now. I think it may be through documents.logos.com but I haven't had much of a chance to play with it.
In the Logos version of Bruce Metzger's, "A textual commentary on the Greek New Testament, second edition a companion volume to the United Bible Societies' Greek New Testament (4th rev. ed.)", he states: For the abbreviations of the titles of the books of the Bible, and the sigla of manuscripts and early versions of the New Testament
