  • Re: What Should I Buy?

As a seminary student, the Master Journal Bundle is my most used resource and I think it's a great value https://www.logos.com/product/54391/master-journal-bundle-21

  • Re: A Question about the Life Application Bible Commentary Series

I have the series and really like it. Here is a sample of Mark 14. 14:33 And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. NKJV Jesus then took the other three disciples, his inner circle, farther into the garden with him. To these closest friends, Jesus revealed his inner turmoil over the event he was about

  • Notes on Andorid when not Controlling Presentation

There have been a few times when I lost connection to Proclaim while preaching and I have just has someone turn off the projector. It's nice that I can see the presentation without actually presenting but the problem is you can't see your notes when not using the remote. Am I doing something wrong or is that by design? Being a small church there are

  • Re: What Are Your Favorite / Most Useful Resources?

I have a big library and I love the resources but if I was going to start from scratch I would put my money into the journals more than anything else. I rarely read entire books but I read a lot of journal articles and have found them to be one of the most valuable aspects of Logos for both personal study and sermon prep. You may want to look at the

  • Re: Ipad Mini 2 32gb performance with Logos apps

I actually have Marshmallow 6.0.1 on it and it runs beautiful with no lags at all (actually seems faster than when I had 5.1.1). I loved the original 2102 version but there is no comparison between the 2012 and 2013. Before I upgraded I did struggle with the 2012 running pretty rough. I flashed it with the Slimkat rom and it ran much better but it is

I was in the same boat and needed to upgrade my Nexus 7 2012 for a better tablet that ran Logos. I looked at the Galaxy and some others but went to the Nexus 7 2013 and absolutely love it, Runs extremely fast (night and day over the 2012) and the screen in beautiful. The cool thing is I found the 32gb LTE model for $149 refurbished. I still think even

  • Need some search help on Luke 15:30

I am trying to learn how to do better searches in Logos and wanted to seek some guidance on a specific search. I am studying the Prodigal Son and specifically Luke 15:30 where the older son states: 30 But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him! (ESV) I have the Zondervan Illustrated

  • Re: Zondervan practice mercy and reduce this price please?

I definitely put my vote in for this. I'm looking at $5 each on Kindle for each Old Testament volume and there is no reason not to buy but I really would rather give my money to Logos instead. I am going to sit tight on this for a few days and see if Logos responds to this because I really want to have this entire set in Logos before any other format

  • Re: Toshiba Satellite Radius 12

I have the Radius 11 with 128 GB SSD and 4 GB ram with Windows 10. My Logos files are 20GB and I still have about 30GB hard drive space left). It runs great for me and I bought mine for under $400 at Amazon a year ago. I've notice no speed or indexing issues. Hope that helps. Bill

  • Re: Navarre bible commentary- any thoughts?

I have the one volume and it's definitely a great one volume commentary. This isn't even the same price range but if you like Navarre, you want to look at Sacra Pagina if you haven't: https://www.logos.com/product/31267/sacra-pagina-new-testament-commentary-series I'm not Catholic but one of my professors in Seminary had us use Sacra Pagina and it has

  • Re: Study Bibles

I agree with James. Even though I have a bunch of study bibles, I rarely use them as I prefer a verse-by-verse commentary. In my opinion one of the best values on Logos is Tom Constable's Bible Study Notes. It's verse by verse and at $35 for 7000 pages is an incredible value and resource. Dr. Constable is a former Professor at Dallas Theological Seminary

  • TIP- An Easy Way to Really Explore Your Massive Jouranl Library

One of my favorites things about Logos is the journals, and I often prefer to read journals (not just use them for research) over books. There might be different ways to do this but I wanted to share the way I read journals as a daily practice if anyone is interested in getting deeper into random articles. I started using this method because I have

My favorite daily devotion is Daily Treasures from the Word. https://www.logos.com/product/8099/daily-treasures-from-the-word-of-god Not only is it great for devotions, each entry has an intro, 3 or 4 points and closing which spurs a lot of sermon and lesson ideas for me in reading.

  • Re: TIP of the day: take a risk - learn something new

I have to say that "Facilitate Serendipitous Discovery" is one of the coolest tools I have come across in Logos. I have a shortcut for FSD to a journals collection. Every day I read a random journal article using FSD which forces me to read things I normally wouldn't select but I always learn something new. If you like to "explore" your thousands of

  • Re: STUDENT DISCOUNT CUTS? :-(

A student discount is an incredible gift whether it is 30% percent or 20% and is something that Logos never had to give us. To complain that a "gift" that was reduced makes Logos greedy or saying they don't care about the customer makes no sense to me. Sure I would love to have 30% off but I know that the gift has saved me thousands of dollars and the

Where I see the value is that it appears that Logos is trying to replicate the desktop experience in a browser: https://www.logos.com/product/51786/access-to-applogoscom Not sure I would want to pay $9 a month but I'm excited about the possibility of using a web app that is more full-fledged than Biblia.
