• Re: BUG - No linking between BHS SESB and Apparatus

Are you using 4.0a SR-3 or 4.0b Beta 6? It is a known but that the links have been broken between SESB NA27 and its apparatus in the last beta. I would not be surprised if this is not also the case for BHS. See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/10676.aspx
I made an error with the initial install. The main disc had a seiral on top and I used that. The other 5 CDs had the serials inside and I didn't see them initially. It has an option to indicate if you have more CDs in this collection and I thought it meant theother ones that came with the set. I was able to re-install

How did you install the CDs? Did you run the setup.exe file on each one that launches the Libronix updater? Or did you just copy the resources using Location Manager? After you run the setup.exe files on each CD, Logos 3 will ask you for the serial numbers that are on the CD covers. After you've successfully installed, registered, and synchronized your

The only thing I have seen is this thread on the SESB forum: http://www.sesb-austausch.de/sesb-allgemein/libronix/p611-logos-4-upgrade-of-sesb-3-to-logos-4/

Glad to hear it is working. The reason I asked about your upgrade is that I'm not sure whether an L4 account that allows it to download L3 resources is created without at least doing the paid cross grade. I was trying to eliminate a variable.

I ordered and installed some L3 only archaeological resources the other day and it didn't take very long at all. Just curious . . . did you do a paid upgrade or crossgrade to L4 or just install the free base engine?

If you successfully installed and synced your licenses in L3, you should be able to type "Update resources" in L4 to get it to download.

  • Re: Can't load SESB 3.0 on Logos 4

You will have to install it per the instructions as though you don't have L4. After you install, register, and sync your license in Libronix 3, your L4 installation will download the resources the next time you restart it. If you have 4.0b beta 6 installed, the links to the apparatus are broke. But they work fine in 4.0a SR-3.

Some volumes are available with a limited preview at books.google.com. Brown on John is not. Fitzmyer on 1 Corinthians is but not Romans.

  • Re: "Find" doesn't look in footnotes?

Steve, Basic search is the way to go to find all references to anything in a resource. In my opinion, this works great. I find the Find tool to be more useful as a navigation tool within a resource but it is limited by not finding occurrences within footnotes.

I am most familiar with the NT volumes (Brown on John, Fitzmyer on Luke,

Power Lookup is ok for just reading the footnotes but there are several limitations. Most importantly, it doesn't solve the original problem of this thread which is there is no way to use Find to quickly search the footnotes within a resource. If there were an option to view the notes inline, they would be part of the text that is available for searching

  • Re: BWS -- difference in hits between textual searches and LXX translation
The question should be how does Logos address this assumption: ignore it (the current approach); add a not translated section - which is not the same as ignoring deuterocanonicals because there are other differences; or add a information (i) which explains the output of the window. I think there needs to be more options in how to view footnotes in a resource. The popup windows are okay for some things but you should also be able to view them inline as they appear in the original text. In that view Find should find all occurrences of a word in the notes.
Considering the price, I assume this is very cursory as is Chapman's New Testament Insert . There is a place for such works, but I would also suggest somewhat more complete grammars as well as books on style such as Turabian or the SBL Handbook or Strunk & White. Such non-bliblically related works do come in handy. [/quote
Looking at 4.0a SR-3 I know what is missing:- The Beta has lost the popup definition:- And this is reflected in the Information window when you hover over the Morph - nothing appears and Power Lookup is produced when you click.
This is very similar to the way the SESB NA27 apparatus is behaving in Beta 6. See my report

  • SESB NA27 apparatus broken in Beta 6

You cannot open the apparatus for the SESB NA27 on Beta 6. It won't open the resource, it just opens the Power Lookup tool without the info. The apparatus info is also missing from the popups.

Thanks, Dave. That is extremely helpful for my current work. It confirms that παραδίδωμι is not used to translate פקד. Opens up a way to explore a few other theories also. I am making a snippet of that query for future use.

OK Just discovered that if you click on the word in the middle, it lists all the occurrences represented by the pie slices. Apparently παραδίδωμι does not translate פקד in case you were wondering. It would be nice to be able to search the result list for a word. Even listed there were so many results that it was hard to make sure I wasn't missing it
