We are aware of bidirectional issues and are actively working on them.
I did not yet get an invite by email. Even checked my spam
Ken, thank you for your patience. I've made the group public for the time being until I can get to the bottom of the issue with email invites. https://faithlife.com/notes-test-logos-51-beta

Sorry about that. :( I replied in the other thread and sent you an invite via email.
-
Doh! Thanks for pointing that out. I will edit the original post. You can post here and I will invite you.

This might be a great example of when it would be helpful to share your note with a developer: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/70061.aspx

While we aren't promising exact 1:1 rendering from Word (that would be a tall order), we realize a lot of users do copy-paste from Word so we are making directed efforts to allow important formatting features to come across when doing so. Aligned with that goal, some of the issues already reported have been improved in beta 7 (e.g. paragraph spacing

Thanks for bringing it to our attention. This will be fixed in beta 8. (not the "next beta" which I had previously mentioned)
I'm more concerned that it does the things expected of a bible based product, where I use the word "elementatry" when Hebrew text isn't rendered correctly or bible hyperlinks aren't rendered, especially when pasting from Logos' resources.
I totally understand, and I doubt you would find anyone at Logos who would disagree
-
All the beta Release Notes use "Rich Text" to designate the new editor e.g.
Yes. I see your point, and perhaps it is worth defining the term. A "rich text editor" is a text editor that allows "rich" text formatting and should not be confused with Microsoft's RTF. To clarify, this is not a term Logos made up but is
I do not have any of these issues when I paste this document into any other program. When I paste it into a Microsoft program or a non-Microsoft program - everything looks correct with one exception - L5.
Of course, you are right with concern to several of the formatting discrepancies we outlined previously. However, an update
And this is what ticks me off with Logos - blame the user.
Let me start off by humbly apologizing. There seems to be some track record for Logos that I'm not familiar with and I will try to be more sensitive to that in the future. Please accept my apology and allow me to clarify my intentions. My intent of this thread (and
#1 seems related to the Section Break (as mentioned above).
Even more specifically... your section break is formatted as a bulleted list! (which is why it's coming across that way in our editor). Please your cursor after the end of the "Volunteer Activities:" paragraph but before the section break (which is

Thanks Tom, your examples are extremely helpful. Many of the issues you point out are mirrored in Dave's example. Let me make sure the issues I'm seeing are the ones that are bugging you most: Added blank list item under "Volunteer Activity" Additional margin applied to second item in "Volunteer Activity" Left margin on lists is being lost. (affecting
Have you tried on older computers, or only on your normal ones? I seem to remember Tom's is more than a few years old?
We have a variety of machines that we test on. But, even still, it is difficult (impossible?) to cover the full spectrum of configurations (hardware/software) that our users have on their desk. This is one

I guess I miss understood all the so called improvements in notes- so far you cannot copy and paste with all your formatting.
4201.Career of Satan.doc With this Word 2007 document pasted into a Note my main gripe is the lack of indentation (each paragraph and the list) and the lack of

I have created a secret Faithlife group for beta users who would like to voluntarily share notes with that group (including several developers) in order to troubleshoot some of these more difficult to repro bugs. Want an invite to join? Post here or email me and I will send you an invite. Once in the group, make a copy of your note, edit the content
-
Still, there is a delay when I type.
We are sorry this continues to plague some users. The difficulty we are having is that we haven't been very successful in reproducing the issue. Over the course of the last several betas there have been several small performance improvements but many of them are highly specific to the

We are actively working on it and continue to fix bugs with each beta cycle. Unfortunately I can't address any of your concerns without you providing sufficient details. What formatting are you referring to? What version of Word? What platform? What do you mean it takes longer to "make a note"?
-
For clarification, Beta 6 is the name assigned to the "hot fix" to Beta 5 that I mentioned.
-
I believe so. If you are still having issues after the hot fix goes live, please let us know.
