• Re: Sources for Lutheran books.

Could we please be done complaining about my church body now? As has been pointed out, this really isn't the place. James, it's a shame you're not open to the resources from Augsburg and Fortress Press, since they are not as monolithic as you imagine them. There's some really great stuff there. You've got Bonhoeffer, Wright, Brueggemann, Wengert, Forde

  • Re: Suggestion: Show community rating on product page
I don't know if it is still true, but many of us do/used to use the library rating to indicate things other than rating such as new, want to read, read, untagged ...so at least in the past, the rating wasn't meaningful.
Oh. Shoot. On the one hand, my hat's off to the clever Logos users who find ways of hacking the program

  • Suggestion: Show community rating on product page

Each product page on logos.com shows a user rating. Could this reflect the community rating as shown in the program? Right now it appears to be based on user feedback via the product page.
Adding to Jack, the multiple uses of Multiview can be a bear (vs tabs), but the independent movement of each column is nice. If you're wondering why no master sync, users have requested this, I guess for 7 years ... multiview was the answer. It has its benefits, even though not the flexibility of a sync master.
Yep. Multiview

  • Lectionary updates on the way?

I'm starting to sweat - we're in the final weeks of 2016 according to the liturgical calendar, but my Logos lectionaries don't yet have entries for 2017 and beyond. I know some folks plan sermons a lot farther down the road than I do, so this really needs to be addressed ASAP. In the future, please update the lectionaries so they look ahead at least

  • Re: Low disk space / SD cards and such

KS4J pointed us in a helpful direction. I didn't realize that the SD reader in the SP3 and SP4 is significantly slower than what a USB 3.0 flash drive is capable of. (Newer computers may have readers capable of using the fastest cards on the market - YMMV.) After doing some research, I settled on the SanDisk Ultra Fit 64GB as a good candidate for testing

  • Re: BUG: Logos your tagging is so bad that user expectations accept trash without question

Thanks, MJ, for continuing to raise this up. It's wonderful having even the partial lectionary support that we have. But it would be so much better if I didn't have to have a custom lectionary study layout hand-populated with the resources I know won't sync automatically. And there's always that nagging feeling that I've forgotten a resource - that

  • Re: Is Logos 7 any more 'touch' friendly?

The Tablet Pro app from the store is a great investment for Surface users. It can turn all or part of your screen into a virtual touchpad to control a cursor (along with a lot of other features). Between this tool and the basic touch features that already exist, I was able to use Logos 6 reasonably well on my Surface. Not as slick as a true touch interface

  • Re: Low disk space / SD cards and such

I guess I should clarify - I think my library did eventually get indexed if it stayed constant for enough days in a row. But every time an update or a newly-purchased resource came down the pipeline, it was back to indexing. This happened often enough that the end result was that my library was essentially being indexed all the time when it lived on

  • Re: Low disk space / SD cards and such

Mark's correct - it's possible to move your library to your Surface's SD card. But he's also right that it's not a very good option. I put the fastest SD card I could find in, and gave it a shot. The result? My library could never complete an index. It just churned and churned. The SD card was too slow.

  • Re: Over $300 for L7 Features? Really?
...even owners seem to want core engine upgrades, support for new OS releases, etc. -- forever. (And at already 25 years old -- a pretty old software company! -- with many customers who've been with us 10+ years, it's not hard to see even basic maintenance / support being a significant 'forever' cost.) • Re: Selective download of resources?

Thanks for the suggestion, KS4J - I'm glad you found a solution that you can live with. (And that your drive ultimately survived its quick exit experience!) I personally don't find tethering a USB drive to a tablet to be reasonable or workable, especially when it's not officially even supported. It's just another clever kludge that Logos users have

  • Re: Selective download of resources?

Thanks, Graham - I appreciate the quick answer. But seriously, Faithlife! It's like you're actively trying to undermine Windows tablets! No UWP, not enough market share, no one wants it, blah blah blah. Fine. Whatever. We're used to not getting any developer love over here on the mobile Windows platform (although it still ticks us off). But how hard

  • Selective download of resources?

I'm sorry if this has been addressed - I've searched the forums and the site for almost an hour, and am just going to give up and ask. Does Logos 7 allow selective download of resources, like the app versions do? Or is it like Logos 6, requiring that every single resource be local on the machine? I ask, because I've given up on running Logos 6 on my

  • Re: Android Emulator? Andy/AMIDuOS

I'm running the Lollipop version of AMIDuOS on my SP3 i3. It works surprisingly well. My Surface does not have enough storage to load and index my resources, so until Faithlife releases a UWP app or lets us selectively download our library with the full app (really - not yet?), it looks like the best I can do is emulate Android. It's galling, but it

This was a cool promo. I wish there were some alternate free gift for those of us who view the whole series but end up with empty carts because we already own the Schaff. Not the end of the world, but it was a letdown.

  • Re: Universal Windows App on Community Pricing

I see there is now a "Faithlife News" app for iOS. It gathers headlines from various Christian news feeds. This is apparently a greater priority for Faithlife than a Windows universal app. And you can bet they didn't ask potential Faithlife News users to cough up $90 to demonstrate their commitment to this important new app. Seriously, who was even

  • Re: Universal Windows App on Community Pricing

OK, I'm now offering to pay $90 for an app Faithlife plans to give away. And my wife only raised her eyebrows slightly at me. But after two weeks, the community pricing chart is essentially flatlined. I'd really like to know exactly how many thousands of dollars Faithlife is expecting Windows advocates to pony up before they're willing to develop this

  • Re: Universal Windows App on Community Pricing

As happy as I am that Faithlife is finally even considering developing a universal Windows app, I'm quickly getting discouraged. The community pricing chart has barely moved despite the excited posts here by Windows users. I'm not sure community pricing is the right - or fair - way to gauge interest in this. The normal community pricing proposition
