Kevin - Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but shouldn't Logos display the same lemma for νόμος in both the LXX and the NT? That doesn't seem to be a problem with the BWS, but with the morphologies...

I was doing some reading on Romans 7 today, and decided to do a Bible Word Study on νόμος / "law". I was surprised at the result: Really? There are no instances of this key word in the entire Greek OT? The issue appears to be a matter of accents. I manually found an instance of νόμος in my LXX, and then right clicked on it to show the context menu:

I've been using FastStone Capture v.5.3 (the last freeware version) - one of the techs I work with recommended it to me for a documentation project I'm working on. It does markup and annotation, and also the ragged edge effect. You can see some sample screen caps in my previous posts. You can grab it at http://download.cnet.com/FastStone-Capture/3000

Matthew - What makes sense to me is that the search lemma:ἀδελφός would yield only the branch of the results highlighted below: Instead, Logos is also showing a smattering of other lemmas that it understands to be translating the English word in conjunction with ἀδελφός. But my search is not asking for anything to do with the English translation - it

I wondered if the reverse interlinear might have something to do with it. Still, this result does not make much sense to me. I understand that a single word in the original language may be rendered by multiple words in the target language. But I'm asking Logos, "What are the instances of this particular lemma?" not "What are the instances of the lemmas

I decided tonight to try out the new 'Analysis' view for Logos searches. I like it very much, but I was surprised to see my results for lemma:ἀδελφός produced lemmas that were not...well, ἀδελφός: From a quick glance, those other lemmas appear around instances of ἀδελφός, but shouldn't a lemma search yield only instances of the lemma? Sorting a lemma

I tried this search on my aging laptop - it was middle of the road when I bought it back in '06 (with a nice 'Designed for Windows XP' sticker on the front). I ran the search on ALL my Bibles, and then on my entire library: Is your computer substantially older than mine? I'm running Win7 RC-1, so perhaps there's a difference there? It's really hard

Yes - library.logos.com in Firefox took my breath away tonight! Logos has done a stunning job of replicating the experience of desktop Logos 4 within the browser. I look forward to more of the tools and resources migrating to the web as time and licensing allow. In the meanwhile, shouldn't you guys be bragging this up somewhere? As wonderful as it was
