• Re: Considering Mac Again
I have had multiple problems with pc’s the last six months and so I am considering Mac again. My three major hesitations with Mac are: 1. The cost 2. Logos4 running slow on Mac 3. I need MS Publisher for the church bulletin
I have long since given up on Windows as a primary OS. Although I still run it as a guest

  • Re: iPad vs Kindle

Well, I own a Kindle, and I'm not sure where it is. I'm sure the battery has run down... I also own an iPad 2. I'm typing on it now. It runs Logos, Vyrso, Kindle, Nook, and iBooks. Plus a bunch of other apps. The only downside to an iPad is direct sunlight, and I rarely read in that environment, so have not had it be an issue. I haven't had my iPad

  • Re: MacBook Pro and Logos4

I am 100% with Dewayne... I run Logos on my early 2010 MBP 15" with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. It's fast, clean, and I don't wait for much of anything. The SSD makes a huge difference for programs like Logos that do a lot of reading from disk. I see no reason to get a PC for Logos. Besides, in my experience, the time I save using a Mac instead of a

  • Re: PowerPoint and Keynote integration: what do you want?

It seems like you could read the XML from Keynote and PowerPoint including the transitions, couldn't you? I know that it's possible for Keynote to export to PowerPoint format and include those transitions that PowerPoint supports. Not possible for Proclaim?

  • Re: Tablets: Apple or Android?

As a consultant who guides his clients in selecting the best technology for their needs, I would strongly recommend the iPad... Unless you are very interested in creating a customized experience for yourself on your tablet. Then, Android is a better choice. Apple do a very good job of vetting applications, protecting users from malware and related nastiness

  • Re: IPad?

If you're buying now, I'd recommend an iPad 2 with a SmartCover. I have both an original iPad and this iPad 2 and the latter is faster, the SmartCover a very nice addition, and its smaller size makes it even more versatile. Given the wide range of apps available (including Logos), its size and weight, and the overall system design, at this point I see

  • Re: IPad 2 - What are your thoughts

Jeff, the one area of question I have is that Verizon actually had an untouchable LTE iPad in their booth at CES in January. I really was expecting an LTE version of the iPad, and can't imagine it being a "bump" like the Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 was. Perhaps the iPhone 5 will be LTE, but that would be a tough approach: do they then have 3 versions or do

I loved my original iPad (32GB AT&T) in its Apple case. My iPad 2 in its Smart Cover just upped the ante. It's not an essential upgrade by any stretch, but when I launched Logos on it for the first time this morning, I noticed the difference in speed. I also notice a clear difference in network speed on it, the lower weight and width (with the Smart

BTW, does Logos for iPad/iPhone keep downloading when the app is in the background or the iOS device is put to sleep (like when I use the Smart Cover on my iPad 2)?

I agree. Furthermore, I will also say that having an SSD makes a gigantic difference on my MBP. With a 3-year lease, it's not even that much more money... But, if you're not leasing, it will be...

'Twon't be a problem with 16GB. I'm using 32, but most of that is HD video from the Apple WWDC! L4 really doesn't take much, depending only on how many resources you download and keep local.

You may be right. But, after more than 25 years in technology, I know one thing for sure: you don't know until it happens, so don't plan on anything! There may be a Windows or Android slate that competes with the iPad sometime in the 4th quarter this year. Whether it will actually be competitive at that point has yet to be seen. Who knows what Apple

Brent, You can do it, but it's a pain... I agree that it really needs to be fixed, and is ironic that we can't easily use the forums from a device on which Logos is fully supported. To respond to a post, touch "Reply," and then touch "HTML". You'll get a screen like the one I'm typing in right now on my iPad. Type your message in raw HTML (including

From my perspective, the iPad is a wonderful experience for interacting with information. I call it the most personal, intimate, and immersive experience available today. Logos on the iPad is a great reading expeience, and some of the study tools are decent, but I'm looking forward to them improving (perhaps even more as Logos 4 Mac goes GA?). My view
