• Re: Value of BDAG/HALOT for non-Greek/Hebrew trained User

Well... I took the plunge on July 1st, and purchased both BDAG and HALOT. Since then, I've been doing some word studies to see what these two resources would add to my word-study "take-aways", above what I could get from the other lexical resources I already owned as listed in my original post. So far, neither resource has added any new insight. I.e

  • Re: Impact of Lexical Resources on Sections of the "Bible Word Study" Guide

One minor note/observation about the translations section, is that even though the settings for that section is set to use the default Bible, the setting doesn't necessarily stick. E.g., my default Bible is the NIV, but if I initiate the Word Study from within the ESV, the translation section is based on the ESV. That doesn't bother me any--in fact

  • Impact of Lexical Resources on Sections of the "Bible Word Study" Guide

When using the "Bible Word Study" guide, the results in the "LEMMA" section will obviously be highly dependent on the lexical resources in a person's library. My expectation is that the results presented in the other sections of the guide are not impacted by the lexical resources one owns. Am I on track?

Beloved, I'm not sure how it happened, but it seems a part of the HALOT entry was repeated over and over and over and over... etc.. In any event, this may be my last post in this thread as it takes a looooooooooooooong time to load and I keep getting a message asking if I want to terminate the process of a long running script.
Pre-pub pricing often gives you a good idea as to what sale pricing might look like in the future. It's rare that a sale dips below pre-pub. (It does sometimes happen, but it's a good marker.) The NIDNTTE was on pre-pub for $159.95, which is less than a 30% discount.
Thank you, Mark. I have the BDAG/HAOLT bundle in

I want to thank everyone who has shared their thoughts and insights. It truly is helpful. Based on the comments posted here as well as those in some other threads, I'm leaning toward getting BDAG. I'm not so sure about HALOT. With HALOT, some people seem to benefit from background articles it provides, but there seems to be less consensus regarding

I became interested in adding NIDOTTE/NIDNTTE to my library as a result of the current 30% off sale, so have been scouring the forum for thoughts & opinions on the set. For the most part, comments have been positive so I think I'll pick it up, but... in the process of scoping it out, I also ran across posts that leave me thinking the set is occasionally
