  • WBC 18B - Job - Clines Mis-typed

I just downloaded WBC volume 18b, Job 38-42 by David J.A. Clines that was released today. This resource is mis-typed in my Library as a "Monograph" rather than as a "Bible Commentary" as it should be.

Thanks for the work you've done! What about the 2 editions of the IVP Dictionary of the Old Testament, Wisdom, Poetry & Writings, and Prophets that are now available in Logos?

  • Re: Westminster Confession including Catechisms

The proofs included with the Logos version are not the same ones used in the version published by the OPC which is also generally used within the PCA also. While there is a good bit of overlap, the references are not identical. Probably not a big deal for many people unless they need to use the proofs within a denominational context, but it is something

  • Re: Best commentaries on the book of James.

Denver Seminary gives top ranking to the ZECNT edition by Blomberg/Kamell for more technical commentaries (ahead of both BECNT/McCartney and NIGTC/Davids). http://www.logos.com/product/17267/zondervan-exegetical-commentary-on-the-new-testament-james For mid-level commentaries, they give top ranking to PNTC/Moo (already suggested above) and NICNT/McKnight

  • Re: Boice Expositional Commentaries $149.95

I'm with Mark Smith in that I have both Preaching the Word and Boice and prefer PtW. However, a similar series that I prefer even more is the Reformed Expository Commentary. The two main editors (and authors of a big chunk of the individual commentaries) are Rick Phillips and Phil Ryken. Interestingly, both Rick and Phil are proteges of Boice and both

  • Re: Another book for Logos users

Assuming that you still have access to your old computer/hard drive, there is a way to copy all the resources over to your new computer, thereby saving both time and bandwidth. I don't have the link(s) to the exact forum post(s), but the instructions on how to do it have been discussed here before.

  • Re: Pick and Choose or Buy a Set

I have Carson's New Testament Commentary Survey in Logos. The next edition is due out in print this Fall. Hopefully, Logos will offer that as well. Commentary surveys can becoming dated rather quickly. As a side note, to the best of my knowledge, Logos has never offered the corresponding Old Testament Commentary Survey by Tremper Longman. The new print

Setting up Eph, Eph, Eph, Eph, ... (repeat 30 times) as the reference and setting the duration for 30 days should work.

  • Re: Great conservative (reformed?) commentary sets

NAC is great. The series is very nearly complete. The only thing you probably should be aware of if you are looking for a Reformed commentary set is that in the books that deal with eschatological issues, the commentaries are written from a Dispensational perspective. That's certainly not a reason to refrain from getting the NAC, but rather that if

Bock's BECNT Luke commentaries (which I have already) was included, but his BECNT commentary on Acts (which I don't) wasn't. Bummer. :(

There are a few individual commentaries from the OTL that I would like to have in Logos, so if Logos every does offer the OTL, I hope that we will be able to purchase individual editions in addition to the complete set.

While lacking the full color graphics of the NIV 2011 Study Bible, the Concordia Self-Study Bible is essentially the same thing as the 1984 version of the NIV Study Bible but with some additional material for Lutherans and a very few of the original notes edited to fit Lutheran theology (but always annotated as an edit from the original). http://www

I think I read somewhere that IVP doesn't plan on making the OT series available in electronic format until the entire series is complete. Though it is nearing completion, Joshua, Lamentations, and Malachi are not yet out, but Malachi is due to be released in print in June (I haven't heard about any projected date for Joshua or Lamentations. I too am

I've posted several other times about this request and had previously searched the forums for a discussion about it and didn't see much about it, but if Logos has already considered this, I find it a little disconcerting that it hasn't been implemented because Bob doesn't like it. If his concerns are because it would somehow degrade performance that

I meant to include that while a user would be limited to only one "parent" resource, there could be multiple "child" resources.

  • Re: irritating link action between Bible and commentary

This wouldn't happen if Logos were to implement an option for parent/child (or master/slave) linking as is found in competing products. What I mean by this is that the behavior would be that the "child" resource (in this case the commentary but could be any type of resource) would follow the position of the "parent" resource (in this case the Bible

Dana- Is there some way to close public comments for this thread and start a new one just for comments? I don't want to limit anyone's ability to comment but I, and I'm guessing others as well, have e-mail notifications set up so that I know whenever you post announcing new collections being broken up. Every time I get a notification, I excitedly open
