  • Re: L5 on Mac with VM or Bootcamp?

So far my use of L5 in Windows 7, running in Bootcamp on a MBP 13, shows significant improvement in performance. Everything responds faster, smoother and has a fluid feel. Searches finish more quickly and modules open with immediacy. It just feels very solid. I think I may actually prefer the UI on the Mac side though. Perhaps it is just a matter of

  • Re: L5 on Mac with VM or Bootcamp?

I hope to have Win7 set up sometime today in Bootcamp and then will download L5, index and dig in. After some some performance tests in realtime use, I'll get back to you here with the results.

  • Re: Bible Sense Lexicon

Michael's question is probably one that many would have difficulty answering without touching at least some theological bias. On one's interpretation of Kosmos at Jn 3:16 and what follows in the subjunctive clause, hangs much of the debate regarding limited atonement. Did Christ come to die for the whole kosmos, or only the believers? But whether or

  • L5 on Mac with VM or Bootcamp?

Hi friends. I've been using L5 for Mac and can say I'm pretty happy with it's performance overall. There are still some issues of parity and of stability and speed compared to the Windows side, so I was wondering if anyone could comment on whether or not it is worth installing Logos in Win 7 through Bootcamp or even through a VM? Perhaps the VM would

  • Re: book recommendation - practical textual cricitism?

I am currently reading the one Elliot recommended "A Student’s Guide to Textual Criticism of the Bible: Its History, Methods and Results" and find it easy to read and follow...very helpful. Once finished, I'll begin "Old Testament Textual Criticism: A Practical Introduction" also available from Logos.

  • Re: Problem with "Learning Biblical Hebrew: A New Approach Using Discourse Analysis"

Thanks Fred. Yes, the new resources have finished indexing and before attempting to use Logos I made sure to let that all complete. The other new modules are all ok, so it's just this one...and it's primarily the jump from "Where do you go from here" to "Verb charts" to "Vocabulary." I had thought of reindexing but I do not really think that is the

  • Problem with "Learning Biblical Hebrew: A New Approach Using Discourse Analysis"

Two days I ago I upgraded to the "Languages" package from Platinum. Everything seems fine with the exception of this particular module which is almost unusable in certain sections. The first two times I opened it, Logos 5 hung and froze for a several seconds and then again between each mouse click. Navigating by clicking anywhere in the table of contents

  • Re: Resource Not Located

Thank you, Graham. Helpful as always! Since posting my initial question, I have come to realize the heart of the matter. I have the Reverse Interlinears for the 2011 NIV (although not visible in the library), but I do not have the NIV Bible, which is sold separately from the base package. Thanks again, Mark

  • Resource Not Located

I can't locate this in my library, although I am told that I own it: NIV | English-Greek NT | The English-Greek Reverse Interlinear New Testament New International Version (2011) NIV | English-Hebrew OT | The English-Hebrew Reverse Interlinear Old Testament New International Version (2011) Running L5 for Mac, Platinum. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Wonderful Features!

I'm finding there is less and less that I cannot do in Logos 5 for Mac, and I'm overjoyed! Just performed a search for Hebrew participles in the Piel and Hiphil stems and got 1,594 results. So how do I organize such a large quantity of information in order to observe the hits by stem and where they appear in the bible? I didn't think there was a way

Ah yes, I keep forgetting to mention my OS. I'm on Mac OSX 10.8.2. Thanks.

  • Translation Wheel Clutter

I thought I should point out the clutter I am receiving with some of the definitions in the translation wheel. Both Hebrew and English text was displaying too closely together for clear readability. Thanks. Screenshot attached.

  • Re: CPU usage bug?

Until yesterday, this hadn't happened to me. However, I can recall exactly what I was doing just prior to setting off the fans. In a sprint of curiosity I began adding a few resources in my pane and then switching through some parallel resources looking for something specific. After switching through about 6 to 10 parallel resources, my fans kicked

  • Crash in L5 Mac caused by Editing Notes...Still

Editing notes in L5 for Mac still causes the application to crash. Specifically, deleting text in a numbered or outlined list is the culprit. I find myself in a cold sweat every time I am working in the notes of L5, fearful that a simple task like taking and editing notes could actually bring my work to a halt for a few minutes, and even lose some unsaved

  • Re: Logos 5 slow on MAC?

I am one of those who cannot complain. L5 for Mac has been performing quite well. It's not the fastest application in its class for the Mac, but peppy enough for an impatient user like me :) To be clear, I am running on a 2012 MBP 13 inch, Intel Core i5 at 2.5GHz and 8GB RAM. 256 SSD by Crucial. No doubt the SSD boosts clock speeds some, but Marc van

  • Window Pane Display Bug

The "collections" window displays only part of the text across the top of the pane bar, as noted with the red arrow in the attached screen shot.

Ah, of course. Now that you said it, I see those are all verbs that are without. Thanks for the quick reply.
