interesting... it makes me not trust the built-in language tools. i wonder how accurate these searches are when using multiple translations?
-
did a bible search in ESV for the word "fellowship" (looking for uses of koinonia) and it threw an article in the results... think this is this a bug?
-
sweet - that worked. thanks!

anyone else get a completely wrong word on your ipod touch/iphone when you touch and hold for word study option?
-
you can also set shortcut keys for highlighting open the highlighting panel, right click on the highlighter you want, then click the "shortcut key" option which gives you a list to chose from you should end up with your shortcuts labeled next to the highlighter. so for instance when i am reading a commentary for a sermon, i highlight the text i think

mine seems to be working just fine. (that is, i DO see them on homepage)
-
I definitely second that - love the feature, needs some work. There needs to be a separation between the "edit" view and the view you actually use when praying/going through requests.

I don't use a devotional book everyday, but in my saved layout that I use for daily Bible reading, I've got a couple of the standard devo books in their own pane if I get the notion to read one. Each book has a "Today's reading" link in both the contents bar and usually on the title page of the book itself. when i open my saved layout, these books do

even if L4 doesnt actually get a RSS built into it, i was thinking you could probably us the Personal Book Builder (when it's available) along with a pretty simple copy/paste script to have a "book" of an RSS feed.
-
you should check out http://logos.uservoice.com there other (including myself) that would love the pdf support too. it would be an awesome upgrade for so many reasons. ive never thought about the RSS reader, great idea though. you should create a suggestion (or see if there is one already) for the suggestions page. thanks, lets keep our fingers crossed
-
please let me apologize if i came across as condescending or patronizing - i meant neither. i sincerely was looking for some examples of real world uses of printing from logos, not just "it doesn't print? why not?" with the explanation of your collection of information for a dissertation, and how and why you would want to do that via another software
-
i understand all the possible ways and uses for printing/exporting to pdf. but neither of the "answers" have really said WHAT you print and why it is more useful to do it straight out of L4. i guess i just dont see the point of extracting text from L4 to put into pdf just for the sake of having it by itself??? doesnt that defeat the purpose of all of

so, this hasnt been the first gripe about being able to print (and probably wont be the last) my big question is this: WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT TO PRINT SO BADLY THAT COPY/PASTE ISNT SUITABLE?
-
you could use a passage list for now if you right click in the list you can make "headings" such as "new verse" "almost memorized", etc. and you can sort them. this would work well for single verse, but if you get into larger chunks of text you should probably break them up by verse because they will get cut off and only show so much
-
why wouldnt you just use a standard text program like pages or word or even the free open office? you could keep everything the same and upgrade your word processing capabilities with all the formatting. my notes process is this - i use Pages to do all my note taking, copy/pasting, outlining, sermon planning/writing, etc. i have a folder system like
-
i always link my notes to the reference, even if im commenting on a specific word - just include in your note what you're talking about specifically. i tried to see if there was a way to change what the note is attached to, doesnt look like it. you make just have to take the time to create a new note (attached to the reference, not the selection) and

i know i saw it somewhere in the forums in the last couple weeks but could not find it again: i would like to turn off the "stable" option and still receive the alphas and betas of new stuff as it comes out. can someone tell me the command to do that please :)
-
to me, this just goes to show what happens when people take Col. 3:23 to heart. thanks for your work and your service to the Lord. every time i use L4 im amazed all over again.
-
i agree, sounds like something is not quite right with your particular setup. that's not even close to my experience and im sure others are having much more success than that as well. i have a first gen macbook pro with L4 installed both natively and emulated on Parallels 5. L4Mac might not be what i could call "snappy," but it sure gets the job done
-
call customer service. i recently purchased the preacher's essential library, tried all the "scan" and other commands, with no luck. called customer service, one of the problems is that L4Mac doesnt give you a place to enter the serial number/registration code. the nice lady on the phone had me set up and running in just a couple seconds.
