Stephen, A couple of thoughts: 1) Are you running Logos 4 on another machine at the same time? 2) Would you be willing to upload your logs?
I also posted in another thread about the Exegetical Guide. The freeze from the About menu has not repeated, but the EG freeze is consistent even after restarting L4 and rebooting the computer.
As I mentioned in that other thread, the fix I made to the EG this morning (which will come in the next beta) will hopefully

Jack, I've made a change that should resolve one of the crashers in your logs. Unfortunately, the nature of these things is that it's entirely possible that the subsequent crashes are residual effects of the initial issue (which I believe I've fixed).

Hover highlighting synchronization isn't consistent. I have to click on the English word before any of the Greek word highlighting show up.
I can confirm this. At first I thought it was working like L4 Win, but this is still not quite right.
I'll take a look. The only change made
Any ideas please
Do you have a "New Resources" section in the search pane on either machine? Have you tried rebuilding the indexes (using "Rebuild Index" in the command bar) in one or both machines?
Word for Word works the way it should
The tweak that kept the verse collapsed until it was finished generating the words (and the inconvenient side effects) was an attempt to get performance for that section tolerable. Additional improvements have been made that should allow the section to perform reasonably without
surprised Logos version had SR-1 instead of SR-2
I'm fixing that as we speak…
was curious if anyone had been down the road before.
I suspect solid-state storage is one reason why MacBook Air performance is generally acceptable despite the fact that it has a substantially slower processor and tighter limits on RAM expandability. A faster disk (including a good SSD) should help Logos 4 performance
but if the decision has been to not implement them
I can't really imagine any of us saying that we wouldn't implement keyboard shortcuts for basic formatting in notes/clippings etc.

Logos 4.2a Beta 2 (v4.21.4.8259) is available for testing. To upgrade from a shipping version, such as 4.0b SR-1, enter "set update channel to beta" command to begin download, or "update now" if you've already switched to the beta channel. For Release Notes, see http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4.2a_Beta_2 .
wondering how much time lag to expect for simultaneous releases
We had a few more Mac-only bugs we wanted to fix. Beta 2 was just shipped for Mac.
It seemed to have finished about 1pm today (EST).
Next time you get to a place where you think it has completed, post your logs before you re-open Logos 4 (which might kick off the indexer and blow away the log that includes the problem).
-
Notice the invalid references...
These messages are informational and don't indicate a problem with indexing but instead an issue with the reference tag in the resource. The indexer is behaving properly by ignoring those references.
-
FRUSTRATED...
These logs show that you've indexed roughly 30% of your resources in under an hour. Depending on your hardware, that's not out of the ordinary. Note that, if you halt indexing before it completes (this is different than pausing it via the menu), it'll start over from the beginning the next time.
-
The logs posted in this thread reveal nothing out of the ordinary. They're just showing progress moving from zero percent complete (in the first post) to about 29% complete in the one posted at 11 AM PST.
A download of that particular size is typically an updated program.
Mac updates are typically 70 MB.
Same here. I updated to the new beta today, and that happened. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled the non-beta version. It now tries to sign in and then crashes.
This is explicitly unsupported behavior. You cannot "go back" to an older version from the stable channel. If you want to rejoin the stable channel, please
Any suggestions?
It's nearly impossible to diagnose your issue without logs. There are instructions for how to post them in my forum signature.
Hmmm..... Windows can do it, OSX can't. I guess Steve Balmer is correct ant MS DOES make the superior OS.
There's all kinds of things that Windows can do that Mac OS X struggles with, chief among them being regularly crippled by malware and viruses. Windows has been outpacing the Mac at being regularly exploited
