• Re: List of Puritan resources available in Logos

For now, you could try this theology collection, which almost certainly comes from Mark Barnes. Collection Rule: Author:("Bates, William", "Baxter, Richard", "Beeke, Joel R.", "Brook, Benjamin", "Brooks, Thomas", "Bunyan, John", "Burroughs, Jeremiah", "Charnock, Stephen", "Clarkson, David", "Edwards, Jonathan", "Flavel, John", "Foxe, John", "Goodwin

  • Books from Childhood Wanted: Sword Scrapbooks

Sword Scrapbook Sword Scrapbook No. 2 Publisher: Sword of the Lord Publishers Language: English ASIN: B0019Q9SRU by Viola Walden - regarding John R. Rice Remember these? I loved these books as a kid growing up and my kids spent hours in them. I'd suppose that not a few preachers would like them as well. They should be in Logos.

Ed, I think have felt what you describe. Logos is a program with both simple and immensely complex capabilities. The simple part is of course simple, and what we would all like is to enjoy the immense capabilities with ease. Logos didn't come to me that way. I worked through all the free resources I could. Over time I realized ever more what all Logos

I am with you on this. I rely heavily on the transcript. For me the value mostly lies in accessibility to information learned, which is mostly in the transcript.

  • Re: SSD Question

Just my opinion, but unless you are sure, I wouldn't clone a SSD. It will work and be fast, but your SSD may not start out very clean. Just do it the hard way.

That machine is fine. Take it and be very happy. Definitely upgrade to SSD if you can before hand, but if not, sneak one into the laptop after you get it.

  • Re: Reading Books in my Logos Library -- Kindle? Other Options?

I could never figure out why on earth we ever needed "send to Kindle" or for that matter why we need Calbre to send to Kindle. Just export from Logos and then email the document (Word, PDF) to your kindle. How easy can it get? Quick, easy, bang, done.
I have long wished that there were an editable Comments field for each item in our library, where we could put our own stuff to supplement the Faithlife-provided description. A field that would show up in the Info panel in the Library when that was open, and in the Info panel of the book when the book is open and its Info

  • Re: Number of pages/words in a book

I don't usually care exactly how many pages a book has. Knowing if it has 30 pages, 100, 300, 800, 2000, are the type of guesstimates I would use. That is why I like the idea of a visual thickness with a mouseover for page#'s. One argument is that page numbers are irrelevant to ebooks, yet I suppose few readers would be convinced. So long as paper books
Workaround for the one in a million people who need to make and use and not delete/erase many handouts (and can't stay pre-8.5): 1. Before updating to 8.5, create a few dozen (or more) handout documents, saved according to some reasonable scheme: ExtraHandout1, ExtraHandout2, etc. 2. After 8.5, edit at your leisure. [/quote
Okay, now comes the big question. How many are interested in the old hymns and spiritual songs?
Yes. I am interested. I hope your plan gets resurrected. My brother in law was an old hymn super-nerd (nodding to Rosie) with a substantial collection of old hymnbooks of every stripe. His special interest was early American
