Thanks for the heads up! Is there any kind of "change log" that tells us what exactly has been updated within the resources?

@Mark I was just noticing your specs in your signature. How does Logos perform for you? What kind of video card do you have? Most of your specs are weaker than mine, but I'm guessing (based on the age of your system) that your video card is probably newer. If you are seeing better performance than I am, that would be strong evidence in favor of the
If you're able, get 6GB of RAM, or more, but it will run on 3.2GB (the max for a 32bit environment).
That's only partially true. In a 32-bit OS, only 3.2GB of 4GB will be available (the rest is reserved for certain system functions, etc.) In a 64-bit OS where you have 6-8GB or more, a full 4GB can be allotted to
I think we could all use Logos to chime in on this issue. They alone know the video demands Logos 4 is making.
I agree, I would definitely like an "official line" so to speak. [quote user="Mark A. Good deal, thanks for the input Dominick :-) I have read a number of review articles and benchmarks and am well aware of the significant increase in gaming performance. I just couldn't find any benchmarks dealing with Aero performance or any other "2D" metrics. That's why I thought I'd ask here. It sounds like (both from your thoughts as well as the

Any idea if the texture fill rate and higher memory bandwidth will translate to higher Logos performance though? I have no Aero performance issues or scrolling/refreshing performance issues with the 7600GT...and it scores a 5.something in the Aero Performance category on the Performance Index. That's why I'm unsure whether I'll truly see any performance

Anybody know? I'm still trying to decide if I will see any performance benefit from upgrading my 4-year-old DirectX9-compliant 7600GT video card. I'm hoping for performance improvements in the population of the sections of the PG. When I do a PG search, my CPU usage hits 100%, but I'm wondering if any offloading to the GPU happens on a DirectX 10.1
With the new Beta, the information tool can be much faster depending on how you set it up. I have tried Logos 4 on 5 different setups - I have tried upgrading ram - went from a dual core to a quad on the desktop - tried a ssd (great for everything else but makes very little difference to L4), and a faster video card. The video

So as these corrections are made, will my Logos software automatically know that it needs to download the "corrected" resources?
There is a Biblical Timelines feature, but it's hidden in your resources, not visible in the UI. Type into the Find box in your Library, type:timeline, and you'll see a bunch of them.
Ooh, cool...I'll try that. Thanks!
Not "intuitively" yet, though as I mentioned we've requested it and I hope they add it in a future release.
Oops, sorry...guess I didn't see the second half of your reply below the screenshot. Glad that it has been requested, that would be nice to have. Thanks again for the info!

I walked away from my computer, came back and finished my reply and see that in the meantime David beat me to it I knew I'd seen it somewhere.
-
The lack of a Biblical Timelines feature (on par with Biblical People, Places, and Things) has also been one of my (few and minor) disappointments. It would definitely be nice to have something like that. Setting aside the debate about whether or not there are "gaps" in the early genealogies, we could certainly have something that gave timelines/lifespan

So is there a way to view and potentially delete all saved Passage Guides easily?
-
Perfect, thanks! Hmm...that needs to be a bit more intuitive. :-)
-
I have the Bible Study edition and just purchased Wiersbe's "Be Amazed" and "Be Resolute" commentaries. When I search Malachi 1:1-5 from the home page to go to the Passage Guide, I get a saved version (apparently) of the PG from a study I was doing before purchasing the resources. If I refresh the PG, the new resource shows up...but then if I close

Good deal, thanks for the quick reply!
-
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I've seen several people refer to the "Explorer" or the "Bible Explorer"...is that just another name for the passage guide? Or is it something else?
Not all commentary series are written from a common perspective. You'll have to investigate each volume on it own merits, as the authors are from a variety of backgrounds. However it is "fairly conservative and clearly evangelical", quoting Jeremy Pierce in his short review of the series here: http://parablemania.ektopos
