• Re: Israelite Feasts and Sacrifices interactive calendar: Chislev or Cheshvan?
I'm unclear why the Israelite Feasts and Sacrifices interactive calendar labels the eighth month "Chislev," which is an alternate spelling of Kislev, the ninth month (as it appears in the Lexham Bible Dictionary) . If I have it right, the eighth month is Bul ( 1 Kgs 6:38 ), Cheshvan, or Marcheshvan.
Hope your question
I have had nothing but bad experiences with translations that try to make "Greek word meaning 1" always equal "English word 1". It focuses too strongly on individual words and ignores the degree the words around a word affect word choice and the influence of collocations. Sometimes a synonym is chosen for its sound, sometimes

The Everyday with Jesus Devotional Bible came over to Logos recently with its acquisition of WordSearch. I used it as a Bible study for our motorcycle ministry chapter.

My advice is not to try and 'learn Logos' but to try and accomplish a specific task with Logos. Seek our the video that shows you how to do that task
Yes, this is annoying. I have the one, but not the other...and it is the same resource. When you have a large library, you sometimes don't realize that you are purchasing a book you already have
Precisely my situation and sentiments. Curious to see how this is addressed.

Zipscript existed prior to the ESV and was original to WordSearch although it is a stand alone app. It does what Logos Verse Copy does not. It accesses your Bibles without opening the main program and allows you to paste verses into any application on or off line. Zipscript loads at start up so that if you need to paste a verse it is available all of

Yep, been defaulting to Duck Duck Go for Bible verse look up and then going to Logos. Now I am comfortable with the idea that I can get to the verse right in Logos. This increases my confidence in Logos 100%.

I backspace like you do and play with the font sizes and the text box size also. The present process is a bit irritating and I agree it would be nice to control the feature.

There have almost always been free and open source Bible programs. I have never used one I liked as my favorite translations have for the most part always been proprietary. Having served as a Bible software consultant I have seen many products, some most excellent ones, come and go. Kudos to Logos for the WS transition. I have learned with Logos, to

Both Augustine and Aquinas were included in the curriculum of my major in Peace Studies and are quite foundational works. International Ethics was a required course also to fulfill the major, but I don't recall the texts used at the time, about 44 years ago. This post peaked my curiosity as to what might be used today.

Many times will use a search engine outside of Logos for speed and an initial search to pare down a subject, then back to Logos. Prefer and default to Duck Duck Go as opposed to Google for a few years now.

The OS seems to be a bit more efficient and that seems to carry over to Logos 9. I found 11 not that difficult a transition, especially since I just moved the Start menu over to the left like Windows 10 and it seems like a hybrid of Linux, Mac and Windows. I would like to get a Windows phone now as I believe the OS is truly mature and flexible for mobile

BobP has said the license is held by an individual, not a library/school/church. This fact makes me believe the license can not be placed in a trust but must be willed to a recipient
