I hadn't run across that before, but I think that is definitely what happened to me. Thanks Donnie!

I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and it seems to be working with my downloaded resources when I don't have internet connectivity. I'm thrilled that I'm able to use the app when my internet connection is spotty, so this is a big win for me! Is it really that simple? Question for the Logos folks: when I brought up the fact that the app didn't work

No, I have not, but I will do so. It's certainly easy enough to do, and I should have tried that already.

My wish list is incredibly simple: continue working with the downloaded books when internet connectivity is lost. I learned something interesting tonight. I've mentioned here a few times that the app doesn't work at all if I'm not connected. Now I realize that is only true for the iOS app. I fired up the Android app on my Chromebook, turned off WiFi

  • Re: Typing in the Go box hangs up

You're right--that's exactly what's happening to me as well. Unfortunately, my laptop is not upgradeable, unless I can figure out a way around that. While I appreciate the suggestions that Logos returns, I wish there were some way to turn those off entirely. Any benefit gained from the suggestions is more than offset by having to wait almost a minute

Dave, It's a 2 year-old laptop with a 7th gen AMD FX chip, 8 GB RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, running Windows 10. I work in IT for a living, so I'm well-versed in Windows, but the lagginess I've seen lately in Logos is a bit perplexing. I usually try to hunt down and disable any process that has decided it needs to be running all the time, but that hasn

Sorry I didn't do a better job of describing the issue. All of your screen shots show the drop-down list of choices that you get. My issue occurs before that drop-down is populated. I'm not sure what it's called, but a little box shows up which acts like the old hourglass in Windows--it shows that the system is "thinking", but no results show up. If

  • Typing in the Go box hangs up

When I am attempting to open a passage guide to a new scripture passage, I obviously start by typing the reference in the Go box. Usually, that will cause Logos to create a drop-down list below the Go box, with suggested passages in it. Lately, though, I just see the "progress bar" endlessly scrolling back and forth, and the passage guide never gets

  • Drug ads on Faithlife Today?

Did the Faithlife site get hacked? There are foreign drug ads showing up there, and as a result, they're showing up on my home page in Logos. Has the site been compromised?

Hi Daniel! While I would happily take as much functionality as it's possible to provide, the main thing I wish for right now is just for the books I've downloaded to be accessible if I lose my internet connectivity. As it is, the mobile app basically stops working if I can't stay connected to the internet. The wifi at my church is spotty sometimes,

  • Re: Bug: poor net connection results in blank app view

I don't think it handles no connection either. This morning in church, my wifi connection was spotty, and the Logos app was unable to open Scripture passages, even though I've downloaded the resource. When I got home, I confirmed that it worked fine with my wifi connnection, so I then turned off wifi entirely on my iPad. Sure enough, Logos was unable

  • Re: Logos 8 Is Here (Official Announcement)!

I upgraded yesterday, and I must say I'm very excited about learning all the new capabilities. I think the FL team has once again done a fantastic job keeping our favorite software up to date and powerful. As with any upgrade, some things have changed, so that means there's a learning curve, but that's okay, because that's the price of progress. Ultimately

  • Re: Chromebook

I agree! I recently got a Chromebook, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I could do on it. The fact that it updates in a couple minutes, is instant on and instant off, and doesn't require anti-virus software, is enough to make me want to do more and more on it. It's fast, well built, has a great screen, and with the Logos web app getting more

I just tried the compact layout, and that seems to help. First, I opened a shorter note file and turned on compact view. Then I opened my longer notes file, and it successfully opened in compact view. At least it opened! So, perhaps now I can make use of the notes. I think I will participate in the web app notes forum. I'm intrigued by what I've seen

Thanks Graham, I appreciate your input. The screenshots were especially helpful. I may check that out, but the main problem I was having was that the app would completely freeze up whenever I tried to open a notes file. Killing the app and restarting does not help, as it seems the app is continuing to try to open the file. The "reset workspace" setting

Update: notes seem to be completely broken. If I hadn’t discovered the “reset workspace” option in settings, I would be stuck with a hopelessly locked up app. My notes file isn’t so big that this should be happening, so I hope this can be fixed. In the meantime, I’ll just have to use OneNote for my notes. By the way, notes

  • Notes on iOS app

First, I love the new app! The team at Faithlife continues to amaze me with their dedication and the wealth of ideas that they come up with. An issue that I’ve had for a long time is how the notes perform in Logos. Since the notes are essentially like files in a folder, that means that there are not individual note files that get created. I can

David, your site is blocking access to the video. It says I've exceeded the number of hits allowed for a human. That must be a mistake. I'm trying to access it on my Chromebook, so I'm very interested to see what you posted. Can this be fixed? Thanks!
