• Re: FAITHLIFE IS MORE LIKE A BUSINESS
This discussion is rather straight forward I think....FL=money. Not an attack...not a criticism...just an observation on my part.
So, is that a good thing or a bad thing? When I think of FL, I think of a company that creates software that I use every single day, and which continues to do so partly because of the
Probably where we part company, if indeed. 'Business' is ancient ... not a modern contraption meriting worship. If you go into akkadian, their rules of the road almost exactly match today's, 4,000 years later. And their expectations for being 'up-front' are ancient as well. The diety of the Israelites even got excited about it

  • Re: FAITHLIFE IS MORE LIKE A BUSINESS

    I'm surprised that this is even a question. Yes, of course FL is a business. There is no way in the world that all of these fantastic resources would just be given away. The software itself is a marvelous achievement--shouldn't those who worked so hard on it receive payment for their work? The fact is that FL does give away an amazing amount of stuff

  • Re: Logos 8 Bronze --> Logos 9 Bronze?

    Thank you all for your replies. Like some of you, I want to maximize the features without spending too much. Over the years I've tried different approaches to keeping up with the upgrades. I had been a Faithlife Connect member for a year, but honestly I didn't use enough of the features to justify it, and I didn't like the feeling that I was renting

  • Logos 8 Bronze --> Logos 9 Bronze?

    I'm debating whether to upgrade at this time, and I'm curious as to what you think of the Bronze upgrade. Did any of you upgrade from Bronze in version 8 to Bronze in version 9? If so, do you think the added features make it a worthy upgrade? I like the new features, but I'm concerned that not getting the full feature set might make it feel a bit incomplete

    Thanks for your review, Kevin! You did a really nice job, and it was a balanced review. I appreciate that you tried to address people who have different needs for Bible study software.

    In the book Transforming Grace by Jerry Bridges, the timeline graphics are missing in chapter one. Thanks!

  • Converted book errors

    I'm not sure if this will work, but I thought I'd create a thread where we can post errors that we find in the converted books, to help the Logos team for future updates. Having largely moved away from Wordsearch to Logos years ago, I'm thrilled that the books that I had in Wordsearch but not Logos will now be coming over! That was quite a welcome surprise

  • Re: Favorite Wordsearch Features

    Hi Joel, I've been a Wordsearch user since the Bible Explorer days, but I transitioned to Logos a few years back. Check out the "Copy Bible Verses" tool in Logos. It's actually better than Zipscript, and gives you full control over the formatting. I'll admit that I haven't used Zipscript in a long time, so perhaps it's better than I remember, but I

  • Banner on home screen

    I'm not sure how others feel, but I just wanted to mention the banner that sometimes shows up on the home screen when I start Logos. I don't recall it being used much in the past, so maybe this is a new thing. When the COVID-19 crisis started, I noticed that Faithlife started advertising resources to help churches through this time, which I think is

  • Re: Unable to save changes to note

    I only mentioned the length of the note because I don't know what part of the note is causing the problem. Sure, I can copy/paste the entire note easily, but that only recreates the same exact note with the same underlying problem. If I wanted to narrow down the issue, I'd have to select small parts and copy/paste those until I find the offending section

  • Unable to save changes to note

    I have a note that I am now unable to change in the web app. If I make any change, I get the message "An error has occurred. Unable to save note." Is there any way for me to figure out why this is occurring? I can create a new note and copy/paste sections of the offending note, and the new note works properly, but the original note is very long and

  • Why is the verse of the day blurry?

    On the Logos 8 home page, the verse of the day is blurry and looks terrible! Everything else on the page looks great, and all pictures are crisp and clear. Does anyone know why the verse graphic looks so bad and if there's any way to fix it? If not, I may have to stop including it in my home page, but I really love seeing the verse there.

  • Anchor verses in workflows

    I'm really enjoying using the workflow feature! I'm wondering if there is a way to change the default behavior of workflows so that they do not automatically assign an anchor verse? I don't really want the note icon to show up next to a verse if I'm doing a workflow on that passage. That ends up putting many, many notes there, most of which are answers

    I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and it seems to be working with my downloaded resources when I don't have internet connectivity. I'm thrilled that I'm able to use the app when my internet connection is spotty, so this is a big win for me! Is it really that simple? Question for the Logos folks: when I brought up the fact that the app didn't work

    My wish list is incredibly simple: continue working with the downloaded books when internet connectivity is lost. I learned something interesting tonight. I've mentioned here a few times that the app doesn't work at all if I'm not connected. Now I realize that is only true for the iOS app. I fired up the Android app on my Chromebook, turned off WiFi

    You're right--that's exactly what's happening to me as well. Unfortunately, my laptop is not upgradeable, unless I can figure out a way around that. While I appreciate the suggestions that Logos returns, I wish there were some way to turn those off entirely. Any benefit gained from the suggestions is more than offset by having to wait almost a minute

    Dave, It's a 2 year-old laptop with a 7th gen AMD FX chip, 8 GB RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, running Windows 10. I work in IT for a living, so I'm well-versed in Windows, but the lagginess I've seen lately in Logos is a bit perplexing. I usually try to hunt down and disable any process that has decided it needs to be running all the time, but that hasn
