  • Using Logos 8 from Alexa (Amazon Echo)

I have Logos 8 and an Amazon Echo Dot. I’m trying to figure out the following: Is there a list of a actions/commands for the Faithlife skill? How do I change Bible versions? Can I use the Passage Guide or Topic Guide? How to I read chapter 5 of a particular book (other than the Bible) in my Logos library? Does the Faithlife skill have Verse of

  • New Line on Slide without Slide Break

In Proclaim, is there an editing code that allows me to create a new line on a slide without breaking to the next slide? I tried double dashes (--) but I either get a long dash or a new page. How do I force a line break on the same slide? Thanks!

  • Devotional for each chapter of the Bible

Is there such a thing as a devotional for each chapter of the Bible? I found some chapter summaries, such as the "Summarized Bible" for the Old and New Testaments. I also found a number of calendar devotionals with readings for one year. But I can't find a book of devotionals for each chapter of the Bible. Our church is looking for something like that

  • Sermon Editor Export to Proclaim gives unexpected slide titles

I love the Logos 7 Sermon Editor! However, the problem I have with it is when I export to Proclaim. In the Sermon Editor, I use "Export" then "Send to Faithlife Proclaim". On the "Select a Presentation" screen, I pick the presentation to export to and click the "Next" button. On the next screen I click the "Send" button to confirm. When I go to Proclaim

  • Re: Make it easier to buy with a “Not Interested” list

I totally agree! The main thing isn't an exhaustive list, but to stop seeing repeats. I keep seeing the same items that I don't intend to buy anytime soon. That's why I would really like a "Not Interested" list. Many of them are sets, so I'd like to put the whole set on "Not Interested".

  • Make it easier to buy with a “Not Interested” list

Dear Logos.com Developers, Logos has so many titles now that I often get thousands of results. Please make it easier for me to find and to buy titles of interest. I propose a “Not Interested” list. Anything on the “Not Interested” would not show in queries on Logos.com. If I go to Sale > On Sale Today, anything on my “Not

  • Logos 7 - How to search and display all footnotes in the New Testament

How do I search and display all the footnotes for a translation of the New Testament? For example, how would I search for and display all of the NKJV footnotes in the New Testament so I could quickly scan them for items of interest? I want to show the verse references, but not the verse text, to make the list easy to skim quickly. Thanks!

  • Re: Report Typo's automated response

If there's no feedback to the use, doesn't that discourage use of the feature ramother than encourage it? I know I would be more motivated to report typos if I got a response of what I reported.

  • Report Typo's automated response

Currently the Report Typo feature sends a generic automated response that tells me which book that I submitted a typo for. However, it doesn't include the typo itself as it will be submitted to the publisher. In the future, could you please include in the automated email response the text of what the user entered into Report Typo? That would big a big

  • Different default translations for Old and New Testaments

On the iPhone app, how do I set different translations for the Old and New Testaments? For example, I want the SBL Greek New Testament and the LXX Old Testament. If I am in the SBL GNT and type an OT verse, it should switch to the LXX (default OT) automatically. If I am in the LXX and type an NT verse, it should switch to the SBL GNT (default NT) automatically

  • Reuben Swanson's series "New Testament Greek Manuscripts"

Here's a suggestion for inclusion in collections for Biblical studies and New Testament Textual Criticism. The challenge would be getting the layout right, but I'm assuming that Logos could do it since it is able to do interlinear formats. Thanks! This is a great resource for English Bible history and the relationship of the Bible to other works. It's also a great resource for fans of the highly acclaimed Norton Critical Editions. • THE NEW TESTAMENT IN THE GREEK FATHERS (SBL, Roderic L. Mullen editor)

The church fathers quoted the New Testament many times over. I would recommend that Logos make available the series available from the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) known as "The New Testament In the Greek Fathers". The current editor is Roderic L. Mullen, Methodist University. Didymus the Blind and the Text of the Gospels (by Bart D. Ehrman

  • Re: Biggest need - HANDS FREE READ ALOUD - enjoy my collection in drive time

I have since upgraded to a new iPhone with iOS 9, and I am able to have the phone read Logos text to me by doing a 2-fingered vertical swipe from the top-down. Love it! My commute time is now my Logos book-listening time. Thanks to everyone who replied previously.

  • Logos Bible Verse Maps - different chapter and verse breaks

I've noted that there's some documentation on different groups of Bibles using different chapter and verse breaks here. http://wiki.logos.com/Bible_Verse_Maps/ However, it doesn't show that some verses break in different places. For example, HCSB places "I have been crucified with Christ" in Galatians 2:19, while NET and others place it in Galatians

I'm currently experimenting with the iPhone app "NaturalReader Text to Speech" By NaturalSoft Limited. It reads PDF and some other formats. I wish Logos had something similar to that built in to its iPhone app.

Bruce, I admit that computer generated voices can take some getting used to, but it's a mature technology now with multiple voices to choose from. Once you get used to it, it's very efficient. My blind friends can listen to computer voices at a much higher rate of speed than I can; but they are skilled at it through practice. Scott

Kevin, The built-in read aloud feature on Apple iOS only reads the text that's already "on the screen" so you can hear it if you are blind or see poorly. I'm suggesting an automated feature that would keep reading the book "whether the text is on the screen yet or not". I've tried the Apple iOS feature, and it doesn't work for hands free driving. I

  • Re: Biggest need - HANDS FREE READ ALOUD - enjoy my collection in drive time

Fred, No, it's not a "huge expense". I'm not asking for an audio book for every ebook; that would require hiring a voice actor to dramatize the text. I'm asking for a computer voice to read the existing ebook. There's a huge difference. Computer generated voices to read text have already existed in a number of apps for more than 20 years. Logos is late

  • Biggest need - HANDS FREE READ ALOUD - enjoy my collection in drive time

The biggest need I have in Logos is to be able to have the book read aloud while I'm driving during my commute time. I would much rather listen to the books in my collection than to the radio anyway. This isn't using the existing smartphone read on-screen feature. That won't cut it. I need to have the app read continuously until I stop it, possibly
